CMDR’s Thoughts:
Man, I’m still reeling from Trashman flying last week! LOL You all have no idea how long its been since the last time I actually personally witnessed her fly at all. Keep up the flying Trash, give me an excuse to get you promoted to CM! ;)
We have a new pilot in our ranks! Yes, you read right, a new pilot. Everyone welcome SL Jorath Kentar to Asp! I have already briefed in our newest pilot, and hopefully we’ll be seeing him sporting the rank of LT around here very soon. ;)
Speaking of promotions. LTs Voss and Kar Ter, do yourselves a favor and show me some activity will you? I’d really like to promote you both to LCM, especially since your way overdue, but you gotta give me something to work with guys. :P
All right, since until recently we only had 5 pilots I’m happy to report that we had better than 50% participation for the Intrepid Platform Challenge, which ends today. Less than 9 hours left to get those last minute pilot files submitted and win a medal!

Asp Squadron TOP ACE Competition:
Well, it looks like LCM Clark gets the SP Kill point this week. Unfortunately I had no time at all to really fly, what with my wedding anniversary and work. :P Great job John, your now up on everyone.
I want to remind everyone that MP victories count as well. Oh, and just to clarify for our newest pilot, since we did have at least one pilot participate this week we will go forth with this months TOP ACE Competition. I had considered putting it on hold until March but since John actually submitted a pilot file for the mission that was assigned I guess we’ll go forth and see if we can’t pull a few others in as well. ;)
This week, fly XvT-Free #51! All pilot files must be in my inbox my 12 PM (EST) Thursday in order to count for this round. Lets get to those fighters and get busy folks!
Multi-Player Competitions:
The Wing Commander is seeking the assistance of Asp Squadron to help motivate other pilots into flying in MP engagements. I see no problem with this, especially since we ARE a MP squadron, so lets get to it and start making a showing at the weekly competitions people!
Recruiting:
As CMDR I am responsible for the maintaining of the squadron. However, it is not the sole duty of the CMDR to recruit new pilots into the squadron. I suggest that everyone take some time in the next week to see about assisting some of the recruits on M/PLT Daedaleus. Remember, we can offer to assist CT’s, but no offers of direct recruitment are allowed unless the CT requests additional information about possibly joining our squadron or wing.
Battle Citations:
YEAH!!! With the arrival of SL Kentar we got back all 13 of our Battle Citations we lost when Haz had to transfer to the Reserves! That means we can now work once again from our 13 and seek that elusive number of 30!! I’ll be updating the Battle Citation Board on the site this weekend with the Battles that have been flown in the past couple of weeks. John has managed to rack up quite a number of Battles for me to add for him on the board. ;)

EH/TC News and Information:
Ø Numerous high scores have been wiped in the past week due to some cheating cases resolved, mainly concerning XWA battles (and some XvT BoP as well). You may want to check if some of your old files may have a high score on those. If so, just submit it again to your commanding officer.
Ø Congratulations to Rear Admiral Locke who has been chosen as the new Commodore of the ISD Challenge. Locke is a long time member of the ship and myself and BGCOM Mell are confident that he can bring the ship back up to rival it's former glory days...congrats!
Ø Congratulations to Colonel Reaper and the pilots of Wing IV on the SSSD Sovereign, who have been awarded the TIE Corps Commander's Award for the month of January.
Ø There's been a lot of speculation and questions over the ATF & DB rule recently, and after discussing it with several people, I've decided to modify and clarify it for everyone's benefit:
- Flight Members and Flight Leaders in the ATF are NOT required to join the Dark Brotherhood, but are highly encouraged to do so. Of course, it will ultimately be the choice of the individual pilot if he or she wishes to join.
- Squadron Commanders and above in the ATF MUST be members of the DB and hold the rank of Acolyte or higher.

Ø Congratulations to Vyacheslav Tiberius Slegr and Gryffon who have been appointed to Chancellor of the Senate (CHS) and Chief Game Master (CGM) of the Fringe, respectively.
Ø Many congratulations go out to Admiral Havoc who has been selected as the new Training Officer! Havoc is a former Wing Commander, Combat Operations Officer and most recently my CA, and I'm sure he'll have every success in his new position.
