Psi Report # 0 (2002-01-09)

This report was submitted by MAJ Jon Doyle

MAJ Jon walks into the briefing room to the usually slouched pilots with ruffled uniforms, however this week something was wrong. MAJ Jon tried to put his finger in it. Ahh there was 1 pilot standing to attention with a freshly pressed uniform.

Squadron news.

We welcome this week a new member to Psi squadron. He has joined Psi squadron from the now defunct Sigma squadron, Welcome CPT Koreil To the squad.
Well finally, I've a wingman :)
Koriel if you could sent a brief Summary about yourself for posting on the Squad website.
Also we may not be the slick flying unit your used to but when we get off our lazy arses we can show the yougeuns a thing or too.

This week has been a bit busy even if not much has actually happened.

Wing News

Well congratulations must go out to CM Jack Stone who has recently taken the helm of Theta squadron. We wish him the best and a long Command.

Mascot power battles (MPB) has entered the final round with wing II III and IV very close. See orders for more info. 100% participation is expected If 1 of this squad let the side down and we lose by a point they can consider themselves to be hung up by the balls ;p (sorry inky)

Sov banner Competition is Running as well so get your graphics tools running and Over heat those processors. More info can be found in the wing report.

Prelude to Andevia has just started. This is a TO competition with multiple divisions So there is something for everyone. I expect every member of the squad to take part in at least 1 division. There is Fiction, fly and graphics. I have joined the XWA ladder so join and come and meet me in combat if your man (or woman) enough. I expect to see allot of medals for Psi in this as we have some of the best fiction writer artists and flyers in the fleet as demonstrated by MPB. For more information and rules visit the website found here:
http://www.imperialacademy.org/comps/prelude/.

Jens Vigstead has returned to the wing, he can be usually bumped into on #airlock54 so say hi to the old timer.

Ford and Jack stone have done well in Fantasy football leagues well done to them (butter cookies for the both of you, Darth vile style)

FCHG Contest #2 Results
16:57 - FA Striker [striker@tiecorps.org]
Happy Birthday Emperor's Hammer, and here are some new FCHG Battles for your glory ! The second edition of the FCHG Mission Creation Contest is now over, with the results hereby released; the winning submissions which become new official FCHG Battles are:

TIE-FCHG Battle 4: Nomads and Superlasers, by LCM Talas (awarded IS-PR)
TIE-FCHG Battle 5: Attack from Within, by LCM Dujhod (awarded IS-SR)
XvT-FCHG Battle 2: Eye for an Eye, by LCM Kittenclaw and LC Halcyon (awarded IS-PR)
XWA-FCHG Battle 3: Ronin's Deception, by MAJ RogueWing (awarded IS-PR)
Thanks to these who took the time to enter the competition, the winning submissions are once more of greater quality. The only disappointement is the low participation compared to the first edition, though more time was given and more advertisement was made. I guess December is not an as good as time for activty than during summer, but I can't change the date of the EH's Birthday ;) The next edition will take place during July, results to be released for the FC's Birthday. Rating of the submissions was made prior any correction, TIE and XWA submissions were reviewed and corrected by TAC/FA Striker, XvT ones by CA:TAC/VA Marcin Szydlowski, and no tug was harmed during the testing. See you next summer for the third edition of the competition !

Prelude to Andevia starts...
21:49 - HA Astatine [jpboyce@indigo.net.au]
Today the Prelude to Andevia competition starts. It is open to ALL members of the Emperor's Hammer, regardless of subgroup, rank or position. It features flying, design, fiction and other events. The competition website is available at http://www.imperialacademy.org/comps/prelude/.

Reminder about mission skipping
13:25 - FA Striker [striker@tiecorps.org]
Skipping a mission is only tolerated in case of a fatal bug, which is extremely rare these days. If the procedure stated in the cheating policy is not followed, the BSF is simply cancelled without any notification (because the database doesn't support it yet). Actually, skipping a mission for any reason may be forbidden in a near future, if people keep ignoring the procedures.

Unknown Commands on IRC
11:19 - FA Stalker5 [Stalker5@rothwell-clieves.freeserve.co.uk]
We have been seeing a lot of people using unknown commands and scripts on IRC channels recently, some of which can be malicious to your IRC Client. These scripts work primarily on human operators running the scripts out of curiosity and infect the victims IRC Client. I would like to advise all members of the Emperor's Hammer that it is usually a very bad idea to run any script you do not know exactly what it does from the code as it can do damage to your client and also if malicious may well earn you a ban and HCI trial.

The FO is looking fo Lady boy's so if you fancy the job apply to him ;p

Ohh and time to watch out as we are no longer being driven by the GA as he has decided to take a little Jaunt away from the fleet, he has left Kawolski at the helm of the sov, I just hope he knows how to fire the Super laser b4 we hit the planets :p

With surefire missing for a couple of Day's rumour was rampant as to whether Wyldefyre will take over Test squadron b4 he returned, however it doesn't seem to have materialised.
