Please help me welcome, CPT CPT Kodiak Kereban!

Last week, we lost LT Tom Starhopper as he went AWOL, and we have been without a Flight Lead for 2 since I come to Odin. I have been hunting for one ever since. I finally had to enlist the help of one of WingXIII’s best Squadron CMDR, CPT Hev Randrowan. He recommended CPT Kodiak Kereban right away! I checked him over and he has proven to be perfect for the role. Go to the Odin Message board and post your welcome. Also, members of Flight II should CC: Kodiak on all communications to me. I want him to be aware of all activity.

 

Please help me welcome, Sub-Lieutenant Z'Harm Kelh Gasu'lk!

SL Z'Harm Kelh Gasu'lk just got off the shuttle from Platform Daedalus! He was assigned to Odin 1-2. In that short time he has completed 3 IWATS courses, and his INPR! I can’t wait to get this kid flying! Great work! I want you to keep that up! You are on your way to making Lieutenant!

 

Squadron XO \ Other Promotions and awards

Over the next 4 weeks I will be closely looking over our Flight Leaders to pick a Squadron XO. I am also looking over our current members to rate you for awards and promotions. One of the main things I look for is what you have done to promote Odin Squadron. What have you done to make Odin better, or look better in the eyes of COL Azazel? Everything you do counts in some way. I will try to get everyone something when you give me something. I believe everyone should be awarded for the things they do, no matter how small. It all counts towards the big picture.

 

Our Main Focus!

During the next few weeks our focus should be getting our numbers up. Pilots make the Squadron, and we need pilots! We have 4 spots open, I want to cut that down to 2. My main area of focus is filling Flight 2 and 3. I want the numbers for the rest of you. Lets get some more pilots in here and increase our numbers! You know the rules. If you don’t, come see me first before you start recruiting!

The Unknown – Chapter 2

 

The Imperial Star Destroyer Grey Wolf, had been in the nebula for days now, repairing the damage done by the Tiagan Pirates of Deslov IV. So far, Her technicians had been able to repair only one of the main engines. She had limped into the Nebula 8 days earlier on thruster power. Things were not looking good. 47% of the ships turbo lasers had been destroyed, along with all the Ion Cannons. The good news: The hyperdrive was going to be finished later today. Odin Squadron was on patrol.

 

Delak keyed his comm unit. "Odin, keep your eyes peeled, and watch your backs." he said as they launched.

"Do you realize how hard it is to watch your own back?? Especially when your strapped into a TIE Advanced??" Replied Shai.

 

The comm flashed on the Grey Wolfs channel. "All pilots on patrol, sensors picking up 2 squadrons of starfighters, looks like the pirates again. Looks like X-Wings and... TIE Defenders."

 

Shai's jaw dropped several inches. TIE Defenders? Where did pirates get TIE Defenders? His TIE Advanced was no mach, he would have to rely on his luck. His comm flashed again. It was Verr, who was closest to the enemy squadrons.

 

"Yup, those are pirates alright, I can make out their Tiagan markings. Odin squadron break by pairs.Engage." With this, Verr banked up on his port Solar Panel and dove headlong into the oncoming enemy formation, His lasers already blazing.

Shai flicked weapons over to Concussion Missiles, set to dual fire, and moved the aiming rectangle over the lead X-Wing, and it immediately turned red, indicating a solid lock. He fired. He watched the missiles streak to their target on red flames. BAM! The X-Wing was turned into a rapidly dissipating cloud, and suddenly he was in them. He switched to lasers and fired non-stop. His rear shields were hammered. He rolled and inverted, and nicked an X-wing. He grinned, The X-Wings starboard S-Foils had been sheared off. The craft veered sharply off, and was cleanly vaporised by a turbo laser blast from the Grey Wolf.

 

Shai dove and fired, climbed and fired, and before long had his second kill. He had flown up the exhaust of a X-Wing and fired at point blank range. He looked out his viewport, and saw Delak diving on two unsuspecting TIE Defenders, when all of a sudden, a missile nailed him from behind. Space spun through his Transparisteel viewport as he fought for control. He pulled hard left and down on the yolk, and finally, the ship stabilized. He through a glance at his displays. Port Ion Engine totally gone. Most of his right Solar panel gone.

 

He increased power to his remaining engine and shot back towards the Grey Wolf, hoping He'd make it.

Odins new commander, CMDR Brat Stone watched as the missile nailed Shai. Shai flew out of the explosion apparently unharmed, until his ship starting spinning. Almost all of one of his solar panels was gone, and Brat Stone could see one of his engines free-flying through space. Well then. Ouch. He shunted all his power to his engines and dove towards a Z-95 firing at Shai, and was pleased as it blew up under his sustained fire.

His computer screamed with warning, indicating an enemy laser lock. He rolled and inverted and pulled the tightest loop he could manage, the inertial compensator was not quite up to the task as he was driven back into his seat. Half by instinct, he found himself tucked in tight behind the TIE Interceptor that had targeted him. He opened up, and was rewarded as the TIE blew up with a bright flash. He looked at his sensor board and keyed his comm.

Shai was still limping back home when he heard Brat Stone over the comm. "All fighters, break off, return to the Grey Wolf, Enemy forces are withdrawing." Shai sighed with relief. This was one fight he didn’t mind not finishing. He seemed to be having bad luck with Concussion missiles. Two missions in a row had ended with him being hit by a pair of the blasted things. He shook his head as he docked with the dagger-shaped ship that was the Grey Wolf.

The debriefing was interesting. The droids onboard the Imperial Star Destroyer seemed to be malfunctioning. Shai laughed as a pair of protocol droids seemed to be engaged in a duel. BAM! Shai walked into a wall.

"Ow..." shai said to no one.

"You know Shai," Said LC Janson as he pulled Shai to his feet, "You need to stop doing that. I hear it can be dangerous to the walls health, and you know what Khadgars like if you dent a wall."

Shai grinned, "Yea well, lets get to that debriefing huh?"

Shai wondered what the pirate attack was all about. Who in their right mind would take on the Emperor's Hammer Aggressor Strike Force? Really? Well, once they found out who convinced them to attack, they'd make them pay. And pay dearly.
