Asp Squadron Commander’s Report 02.23.02

CMDR’s Thoughts:
Well, I was going to say that it had been a pretty quiet week activity wise, but then the sudden appearance of three medals, and a brand new pilot changed all that. LOL

Welcome our newest pilot to Asp Squadron, SL Gistenjunge! This puts us back up to 7 pilots, with only five needed now. My special thanks to LCM Clark’s recruiting efforts for Asp, and those of other pilots in Wing XIV that have selflessly recruited for the Wing rather than for a particular Squadron!

Ok, lets keep up the recruiting efforts, and all pilots are now required from this point on to submit a weekly activity update to me by Thursday of each week without fail. Any pilot that misses reporting in four weeks in a row will be sent a final warning and will have a set time period to report back in. Any pilot that fails to report in for the final warning will then be declared AWOL. This pertains mainly to the older pilots who have failed to show any dedicated activity on a regular basis, but you newer pilots should also take note as well since this particular CMDR will no longer allow any officer to remain inactive and fill a position any longer.

We are in serious need of a new FL for Flight III. However at this point there are no other officers within Asp that meet the requirements at this time for consideration, which means I’m forced to have to look outside the Squadron for a suitable candidate.

Lets get active people! Already we have a brand new SL who is showing how to be active, and how this can be done without flying all the time. LCM Clark has been carrying the weight of the general activity for some time now, and this will no longer be tolerated. Even the CMDR has shown more activity than the entire Squadron combined in recent months, and that should never happen. The CMDR should be so busy with BSF’s and other matters that he has little time to fly or be involved in other activities. :P

Prelude to Andevia:
The competition is still underway. Show your support for the TIE Corps and participate in the many events! You can learn more about this exciting EH-wide competition at http://www.imperialacademy.org/comps/prelude

Asp Squadron TOP ACE Competition:
Well, it looks LC Wil Striker like gets the SP Kill point this week. Sorry John, but I managed to pull ahead by at least 14K to jump over your score. :P

Which brings me to a very important issue. So far only LCM Clark and I have been participating in this each month. With 7 pilots, and the majority flying XvT, there is no real reason or excuse for not being able to fly a single mission each week, let alone jump into a MP Comp and win some LoC’s.

This week, fly XvT-Free #52! All pilot files must be in my inbox my 12 PM (EST) Thursday in order to count for this round. Lets get to those fighters and get busy folks!

Multi-Player Competitions:
The Wing Commander is seeking the assistance of Asp Squadron to help motivate other pilots into flying in MP engagements. I see no problem with this, especially since we ARE a MP squadron, so lets get to it and start making a showing at the weekly competitions people!

Recruiting:
One new recruit, many to go. Lets get busy and find some new pilots Asp!!

Battle Citations:
With the addition of SL Gistenjunge to our ranks we are down to 5 Battle Citations now. All pilots are encouraged to check out the Battle Citation Board on the Squadron site and see which Battles you can fly to help us win more Citations. All those colored as already having a Battle Citation at this time most likely need another pilot to fly them. I will endeavor to update this board over the weekend as time allows so that it is more up to date. In the meantime you can use the list at the bottom of this report to help you figure out which Battles still need to be flown by at least one more pilot in order to win back our lost Citations, as well as win more. Remember, any pilot that actively sets out to help us win more Citations could possibly be awarded an Imperial Security Medal for their efforts. Any pilot that single-handedly wins us at least 10 new Battle Citations will be recommended for a Palpatine Crescent!

good reason. Today, we finally present to you the public site for Project Hawkeye. Linked to it is the URL for the Qualification Test for entering the second phase of thecompetition. What is the second (and main) stage? It's a series of missions designed to be completed on the Internet, run by the Hawkeye Admin Team. We well accept20-25 people from those that take the Qualification Test to participate. If you're not accepted, you'll be prepared for the next episode of this competition, coming this summer, Project Hawkeye II! Don't forget to read the FAQs on the Hawkeye site!

Ø New CA:SO selected: Due to my latest project (to build a new EH Security Database) I have recently required a CA:SO. As I already have an SOA with good webdesign and scripting skills, I have selected CPT Keldorn to be my new CA:SO. He designed the new SO office, and has been a great help to me in many ways. He recieves a promotion to the rank of Rear-Admiral (RA) with his appointment, so congratulations to him! – FA Stalker5
