Rules: Squadron pilot scores are counted together and then are devided through the number of pilots the Squadron has (not who has flown the mission). For the case that a pilot is not able to fly the mission the Squadron CMDR has to inform the WC and COM immediatly! If the command staff isn't informed immediatly, the pilot will be count into the result of a squadron.
The winner of the competition is the squadron with the highest average score. Top pilot of the ship with the highest score will recieved an IS-SW, runner up IS-BW

ECR 4 - Round I - Fiction
Introduction
Exercise Cantina Run - the BGCOM's fourth
Everyone knows the BGCOM has a reputation of enjoying a good party.. and the hunt for the best cantina around has generally been the theme for our Battlegroup Flagship comps.. one that I'm not about to end. Now, anyone who knows me, understands my appreciation of the disco era, and here in space.. it's kinda nice to bring a little bit of good ol' booty shakin', lava lamp lovin', afro sportin' action to the battlegroups flagship ;) Now, I've got my dance floor and disco ball , I just need to find out which cantina to install it in.
We've got 4 ships, and a whole lot of experienced and eager pilots that think their ships are the best. The Relentless, the current flagship of the Battlegroups is looking to defend their title, and are very amped to do so. The Immortal.. my home ship, and previous title holder want to get the title back so bad they can taste it, and I can feel the energy flowing through the ships crew as they prepare to win it! The Colossus crew thinks that they OWN this comp, and I know for a fact that they will attempt to prove it over and over again. The Challenge, sitting quietly waiting for the comp to start, I am sure will pull out a few surprises of their own as they attempt to once again snag the title. I know that you all have it in you, and it's going to be a very close competition! Good luck to everyone, and may the best ship win :)
Round I - Fiction
To get this competition started, we need to see some creative juices flowing .. and I don't mean in lava lamps. Each pilot is to write a story based on the events at this years Imperial Storm Exercise. Now , don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting a fully detailed report about what actually happened (that's my job :P ) Instead, I am asking more for possibly.. what should've happened, what may have happened before or after the battles that actually did take place. I am leaving this very open, and the only requirements that I NEED to see, are actual names of planets and people that were directly involved with the exercise. Anything submitted that doesn't fit this guideline will be disqualified!
Pieces of fiction should be a minimum of 500 words, and a maximum of 1500, and must be turned in by the ships Commodores to me by Sept. 22nd. Judging will be done by myself and another individual (to be named at a later date :P ) and each story will be graded 1-10. The top 4 submissions will be awarded bonus points for their ships, as well as medals for the top 3 (see below for more details). Iron Stars-Gold Ribbons are very rare, and indeed a very sought after medal.. only 8 people in the TC have one!
To establish the wininng ship, I will add all the points up and figure out the ships average based on the # of pilots onboard at the time of the rounds end date (Sept.22). The only exception to this equation will be pilots who are on excused leave, or pilots which are recently assigned to the ship ( 1 week ), in which case the Commodore should include that in his report . Exercise Cantina Run IV - With Imperial Storm coming to a close, this competition will involve making this exercise more of a reality. Pilots are asked to create 1.fiction 2.missions 3.graphics and 4.fly missions which are all related to the events which have (or should have :P ) happened. Each category will last 2 weeks, with the final overall winner being named the Flagship of the Battlegroups - all members of this ship will be rewarded with a custom made medallion. Points will be awarded for both quality of submissions and participation. Submissions not relating to Imperial Storm (ship and planet names etc.) will not be accepted.
For the pilots' submissions in each round, the following bonus points will be awarded to their respective ship:
1st place - 15 points & IS-GR
2nd place - 10 points & IS-SR
3rd place - 5 points & IS-BR
4th place - 3 points
(in the case of the flying round , Ribbons will be replaced with Wings)
Ship bonuses will be awarded by participation:
100% participation - 10 points
90-100 - 9 points
80-90 - 8 points
70-80 - 7 points
60-70 - 6 points
50-60 - 5 points
40-50 - 4 points
etc.. well, anything less than that is unacceptable :P
For each round, submissions will be scored and rated, based on averages, the ships will be ranked 1st - 4th and points awarded like so :
1st - 35 points
2nd - 25 points
3rd - 15 points
4th - 10 points
In the end, the ship with the highest points wins! Good luck pilots :)

Daedalus Banner Competition
Now Daedalus has a Motto, we can now move on with a competition for a new banner. The banner will be used in on the TIECorps.org site to replace the current image, as well as in other areas.
Q. What's needed?
A. A banner. It should contain the winning motto "Shaping Tomorrow's Empire" and should include appropriate images for the training platform.
Q. Is there a specific format?
A. Submitted banners should be in GIF or JPEG format and 400x40 pixels or around those dimensions and ratio. Please note that it'll be a good idea to keep a larger version in a non-lossy format (such as Photoshop's PSD or a BMP) on your local system. This is because the final dimensions of the production usage of the banner may change.
Q. Where do I send it?
A. Submissions should go to daedalusbanner@imperialacademy.org with the subject line of "Daedalus Banner Competition". Also include your full ID line in the email.
Q. What do the winners get?
A. First place gets a new shiny Iron Star-Platinium Ribbon, second gets a Gold Ribbon and third gets a Silver.
Q. Who can enter?
A. Like all Training Office competitions, this one is open to all members of the Emperor's Hammer, including CS, TIE Corps and all subgroups. If a subgroup member places in the competition, he/she can be awarded a subgroup specific award of compariable value if he/she wishes.
Q. When do I have to have my masterpiece in by?
A. The competition will run for a full month and will end on 30th September 2001. Winners will be selected and posted on TIE Corps news, the TO site and in the next TO report.
