Lieutenant Commander Xanthos Deia crawled out of his Razor Fighter, returning from leave, only to find his CMDr, Ekim, there waiting for him.
“Hey, Ekim,” Xanthos said, “Has my transfer to Echo cleared?”
Ekim smiled. “In a way.” He held out his hand and presented Xanthos with new Commander ranks. “Congratulations, Echo Commander.”
That’s pretty much what happened. I get back from a weekend trip, and find out I’m the new Echo CMDR. I mean, I’m not complaining, but I’m about as surprised, if not more so, than you guys are. =P
Also, every member of the squadron, with the exception Maxwell Von Opel, who has a broken arm, is required to have some activity by my birthday(October 19). If not, you had better have a good reason, or be waiting in line at the Flight Office with a transfer request in your hand. I don’t ask for much. A battle every week or two. Not exactly strenuous work. =P
