Koph Report # 46 (2001-07-17)

This report was submitted by LC Firebird

Pilots of Koph Squadron:

The big news of this week is that Koph Squadron has been officially
announced as the SSSD Sovereign Command Staff Escort Squadron for Q3
2001! Basically, that means we are the best. I realize we all already
knew that, but congratulations anyways. You guys should be pretty dang
proud of yourselves: the title was awarded by none other than COM/FA
Kramer himself. Fantastic work, people! Keep it up!

I have created yet another dandy little award for your Squadron ID
Lines: the ESC, short for "Escort Squadron". Everyone gets one,
congratulations! This does, of course, mean that if we were to be
granted the title of Escort Squadron a second time, you all would get
a second one... something to think about, perhaps? ;)

Your new Squadron ID Lines are:

LC Firebird - ESC/WCOx4/XIV/SvS/SCE/BLK/KA
LC Iceman - ESC/WCOx4/XIV/SvS/SCE/BLK/KAx9
LT Tac Balon - ESC/WCOx2/SvS/KA/TTT
LCM Torey Medrock - ESC/WCOx2/SvS/KAx3
CPT Vuffi Raa - ESC/WCOx2/SvS/KA
CPT Mauser - ESC/WCOx4/XIV/SvS/KAx4
LC Joe - ESC/WCOx2/SvS/KA
COL Vampire - ESC/WCOx2/KA
COL Samuel Shadd III - ESC/WCOx2/KA
CPT Nikolai Boshevki - ESC/WCOx2/KA
CPT Reesbon Fortis - ESC

Competitions! There are TONS of them coming up in the very near
future! First, here are the old ones you guys already know about:

Psi Squadron Invitational Tournament: I've sent in our scores for
round 2, and I assume we'll find out the results later this week. If
Round 1 was any indication, we should be in great shape to move on to
the third and final round.

Omega Squadron Competition: My agreement with GN Devin was that we'd
wait until the PSIT was over before moving on to challenge Omega.
However... the new competitions that Jesseb announced mean our
timeline has become quite cramped. Read on...

We have two new competitions coming up. As announced by WC/MAJ Jesseb,
there will be a FCHG race starting some time near the end of this
week. Both Tav and Zeta's CMDRs have announced their (foolish)
intentions to win the competition, and as usual it is up to us to
deflate their egos.

The second new competition will be another round of SCEs, or Squadron
Combat Effectiveness training. SCE is an evil little competition I
dreamed up awhile back where the WC mails out a FREE-TIE to fly each
morning for five days, and each pilot earns points for their squadron
based on how quickly they can return their pilot file. A percentage is
calculated based on the total number of points possible for each
squadron vs. the number of points achieved, and the squad with the
highest percentage wins, as they are the most combat ready.

So.. we've got four competitions coming up in the next couple of
weeks. I hope you folks are ready to do some winning! :)

This week, Captain Vuffi Raa transferred to Valkyrie Squadron on the
ISD Grey Wolf. Good luck in your new squadron, Vuffi!

Almost like magic, Koph picked up a new Captain today: Captain Reesbon
Fortis. He's a friend of CPT Boshevki, and the two of us have talked a
bit via email. It sounds like he's going to make a great addition to
the squadron. Welcome to Koph, Captain!

Each week, it is my pleasure to award the Koph Ace of the Week. It has
become a tradition to award the Ace to a new pilot on his or her first
week in the squadron. However, the Koph Ace is not the only award I
have for CPT Fortis. Koph was awarded Wing Commander's Own for July
and August, so CPT Fortis is also the proud recipient of two (count
'em) WCOs for his Squadron ID Line today. Congratulations!

Your new Squadron ID Line is:

CPT Reesbon Fortis - ESC/WCOx2/KA
