Koph Report # 43 (2001-06-27)

This report was submitted by LC Firebird

Pilots of Koph Squadron:

The big news this week is that we won the competition with Shin
Squadron by a huge margin! Our TIEs are clean, and my bank account is
empty from funding the huge party afterwards. Great job!

I would like to introduce a brand new squadron medal having to do with
Squadron competitions. It is dubbed "SvS" for "Squadron vs. Squadron".
The following people have earned an SvS for helping Koph to win the
competition with Shin Squadron.

Your new Squadron ID Lines are:

LC Firebird - WCOx2/RL/XIV/SvS/SCE/BLK/KA
LCM Torey Medrock - RL/SvS/KAx2
CPT Vuffi Raa - SvS/KA
LC Andrzej Mezynski - WCOx2/XIV/SvS/SCE/BLK/KAx8
LT Tac Balon - SvS/KA/TTT
LC Joe - SvS/KA
LCM Neo Rising - SvS/KA
CPT Mauser - WCOx2/XIV/SvS/KAx4
LCM Sandor Clegane - SvS/SCE/KAx5

We lost a pilot this week. LCM Neo Rising has transferred from Koph to
be a Flight Leader in Tav Squadron. Please wish him good luck as he
moves his stuff over there, and don't make too much fun of him. You
never know, Tav might give us a run for our money some day. Heh heh :P

In unrelated news this week, Koph suddenly has a lot more citations
than it used to. Check the end of the report for more information.

Now the news I know all of you have been waiting for... who is going
to be Flight Leader of Flight 3? I accepted applications, and had
several very strong recommendations to combine with my own opinions
and the activity records. As you all know, a Flight Leader carries
much responsibility and very little privilege in the TIE Corps. They
are expected to always be the most active and enthusiastic pilots in
the squadron, and to be role models for the rest of the pilots. Koph
Flight Leaders are unique in the fact that they are allowed to post
news on the web site, but that is the ONLY privilege accorded to them.

I am pleased to appoint LCM Torey Medrock as the new Flight Leader in
Flight 3. Congratulations, Torey!

Out with the old, and in with the... older? The transfer hasn't gone
through yet, but I would like to wish (soon to be) COL Vampire a warm
welcome to Koph Squadron. Vampire was the guy who first recruited me
into the Emperor's Hammer a bunch of years ago, and while he has been
in the reserves for quite awhile now, he is every inch a TIE Corps
officer and I'm sure will do the squadron proud. Also, having been on
a Vice Admiral's salary for quite awhile now, I'm sure the parties
will be quite spectacular...

I am no longer the old man of the wing :)

The Psi Squadron Invitational Tournament continues. The battle to fly
is TC-TIE 121 for high scores. Submissions are due by July 3rd, and
scoring is totaled, not averaged, so the more submissions we have, the
better chance we have at winning. Even if you can't put much effort
into it, a low score is far better than none at all. Just remember to
always fly on hard difficulty, because hard isn't much harder than
easy, but you get a whole lot more points...

In other news, LCM Torey is getting a copy of XWA soon. So, I'd like
to put together a list of people in Koph who are interested in some
informal multiplayer XWA, since I know there are more than a few of
you who might be interested. *looks at Joe*

(LC_Iceman) yep...we could challenge zeta in xwa multi :))
(LC_FBird) Joe would beat them all down.. he's damn good at XWA
(LC_Iceman) heh :)
(LC_FBird) if only I could get him to fly TIE once in awhile ;)
(LC_Iceman) that would be good :)
(LC_FBird) he was a desk jockey too long :P
(LC_Iceman) maybe we could add solar panels and hyperdrive to his desk :P

Joe, the technicians should be arriving shortly...

If you'd be interested in flying multiplayer XWA against (or with)
your fellow Koph pilots, send an email to the Koph mailing list and
let us know what times would be best for you. I'll try to set up a
regular time that works for the most people, and we'll just meet on
#WingVI at that time to hang around, make fun of the other squadrons,
and get some flying done.

Naturally, if you don't have XWA you are always welcome on the
undernet at #WingVI and those of us who are there on a regular basis
would love to see those of you who aren't. It's a matter of being
active and visible to your fellow EHers.

Finally, the Koph Ace of the Week this week goes to LC Iceman for
the top score in the Shin Competition, for being the second (behind me
:P) to submit a score for the PSIT, and for suggesting that we add
hyperdrive to Joe's desk. If that doesn't get him to start flying, I
don't know what will!

Your new Squadron ID line is:
Lieutenant Colonel Iceman - WCOx2/XIV/SvS/SCE/BLK/KAx9
