TARTARUS SQUADRON
WING XIII of ISD GREY WOLF
WEEKLY SQUADRON REPORT
NR.2
by CMDR/CM DarkC

Well here goes the second week as your commander and here comes my second report:)) Considerring that half of the squadron is on
vacation...i may say that this was a productive week...lol. But as it always happens and things never work out as planned, this report will contain
also less pleasant news...but nothing we can't deal with if we keep up the good work:)
So let's cut this talking and get down to bussiness! I'm afraid this report will be a bit shorter than the previous one because i had a very busy
week (i even had to leave town for a couple of days...business) so it left me a short time to writte this. That's why i'll probly miss some things i
wanted to writte..lol...i hope you'll forgive me:)

RECRUITMENT

Even though most of us were happy when we found out that Odin squadron will be reopened, it seems it also has it's disadvantages...at least for
our squadron. Lt Brian got a flight leader position in Odin and he left Tartarus this week. I think there is nothing to say about this but "Good luck
Brian!"
So our squadron is now at only 7 pilots, that's why i have to make recruitment our first priority again. Try and find some good pilots eager to be
members of a great squadron:)))

NEWS

1. LT Brian left our squadron and joined Odin squadron as a flight leader. Good luck mate!
2. LT Arcadius Calidus, LCM Leslaw and of course our dear CPT Tomaas are still on leave,so we'll have to work a bit harder to get those
citations, there are only 4 of us left here:)
3. RA Khadgar is back from his leave.
4. Due to my promotion as CMDR , the flight leader position for flight II became available. I received a few apllications for this position both from
inside and outside the squadron...so after giving it a deep thought..and having a short chat with Tom i have come to a decision.
The new FLIGHT LEADER of Flight II is .....LT Jatz Crakker. The best of luck to you Jatz and make sure you won't make me regret this...lol,i was
only joking:))

FICTION

This is the second week without any fiction...are you guys expecting only me to write it?...lol...i'll try to,but you must help me too:)
As you could notice,we had alot of fiction lately, and a very good one i might add...so i would like you to continue writting, every time you get
tired of flying...lol

MEDALS

No medals this week, but there will be some coming soon especially if you're gonna take that PSI comp seriously:)))

PROMOTIONS

LT Jatz Crakker is the new FL of Flight II. Congratulations!!!!

MP FLYING

We MUST increase our multiplayer activity! You saw what happened with the Retribution competition. We could have had our squadron name
mentioned too if we would have tryied harder.

COMPETITIONS

Uniform competition

Simple and sweet,i need an uniform guys:)). If it'll be nice and confortable, the author will get an ISM. If not....well,there is always another try, isn't
it?In general,he'd like it to be fully official and to bear apropriate markings,no crapy-looks.

Graphics and fiction competition

Similar one. We really need some material for the webpage so we could outshine our mates from other squadrons. ISM for most creative
people. The same applies to the fiction writters. If it's good enough,ISM is yours. Our home page is improving everyday, but we can make it
better....come on guys,use your imagination!!:))

PSI Tournament [ACCEPTED]

All ten squadrons are divided into three pools, each with four squadrons in a pool. A short (preferably 4-mission battle) will be assigned for the first round of competition.
Each pool will fly the same battle, and after a 10-day period, the winners will be announced. The top squadron in each pool will automatically advance to the next round, as
well as the overall top two scoring squadrons who did not finish first in their pool, leaving five total squadrons the survivors. In the next round, a Free-TIE will be played, with
each squadron being given a week to fly it. The three squadrons with the highest score in that round will advance to the championship round, where a longer (probably six
mission-long) battle will be issued, with ten days to fly it. The top-scoring squadron from the final round is then proclaimed the winner, with appropriate bragging rights
issued. Additionally, the aggregate top-scoring pilot from each of the final three squadrons will receive an Iron Star - Silver Wings.
Scoring will be measured by a highest total laserless scoring method. Though averages are a popular method in multiple squadron comps, Ford feels that a simple highest
total method encourages participation, so that members of each squadron who aren't quite as good as their comrades don't worry about pulling the squadron's average
down, and are free to participate and chip in as their skills allow.
You'll also note that each squadron invited is of fairly small size - 6 to 8 pilots per squadron, usually. The reasons for this are two-fold: first, so that not doing the
competition by averages wouldn't have a very great effect upon some of the smaller squadrons, and secondly, to give some of the smaller units a chance to shine. In most
fleet-wide competitions, it's the 10 + member squadrons who get the glory, while smaller units are left in the dust. Not in this competition, however.
Additionally, as to allay any fears that Ford running the competition will give Psi Squadron an advantage, CA:FO Havoc will assist with the mission selection and
judging.

Our mission in round I was TC-TIE#121. Some of you have flown it, some haven't.
Here are the scores we got:
CM DarkC : 62584
LT Brian: 76309
CPT Tomaas: 103841
COL Woobee: 203150
LT Jatz Crakker : 277958
So now...we got to round II and we have to fly Free TIE #53. Please make sure you fly it!...i won't accept any excusses...it's only a simple
mission,do your best! I want this squadron in the final round!!!!
Tomaas already flew it...and he's on vacation...so please hurry up!!! The pilot files must be sent till latest the 14th.

RECORD OF THE WEEK

Noone said anything about the band last week...hehe....maybe you don't like the same kind of music i do,lol...or maybe it's just the age?...hehe
Anyway,i'll take my chances this week again and talk to you about another band i really love....
GUNS N' ROSES
Maybe if you'll take some time and listen to at least the double album "Use you ilussion" you'll see i'm not mistaking...lol
And just in case not all of you will like it....there is another band...with another song i would like you to check out: IRON MAIDEN - Fear of the dark

COMMANDER'S OFFICE

Well guys...i think this is about all for my first week as your Commander. There have been some good news and some bad news, but no matter
what will happen in the future i want to remind you that our squadron had even worse times in the past, but we never gave up and we managed to
bring Tartarus in the position it is today. Of course it can be better, but never forget that it is always easier to get on top then stay there! I know i
problably sounded hard on you guys a few times this week..and i'm aware i made mistakes for which i apologies, but i want you to trust in me
and help me place this squadron where it belongs. One thing i can promisse you is that i will never let you down nor this great squadron no matter
what my position will be...as your CMDR or just a simple pilot...lol...because there is no such thing as a simple pilot when you're a Tartarusian:)
