CMDR/CM Dae Cam reporting for Talon Squadron on 7.27.01:

…”ATTENTION!”, comes the piercing call across the Flight Deck of the ISD Subjugator. With crisp military precision, the assembled pilots of Wing XX seem to simultaneously snap to attention.

At the head of the assembled body, RA Jeff Loruss and COL Smitrock stand with a small honorary entourage. Stepping forward, COL Smitrock begins to address the assembled pilots.

“We are assembled here today to bestow several honors”, he begins. “LT Cobolt, please step forwards”. As the young lieutenant approaches the Wing Commander, Smitrock signals one of the honor guards, who proceeds to unfurl a large banner.

“For designing our wing banner, I would like to present the Iron Star Bronze Ribbon to LT Cobolt of Nemesis squadron. Good work!”, announces COL Smitrock as he pins said ribbon to the beaming LT’s chest. After a quick shake and salute, LT Cobolt proceeds back into the ranks and COL Smitrock continues.

“Additionally, to any of you artistically inclined, I would like to stress that we need more such designs, specifically, I would ask that a Wing Collar be fashioned. Now, on to the next order of business. LT Arion Sunrider, please step forward.” With long practiced confidence, a man that you recognize as Praetor to the Herald and Proconsul of Clan Satal Keto steps forward, wearing the Ceremonial Dress Uniform of a Lieutenant in the TIE Corps augmented by a 7 sided medallion worn about his neck, and a lightsaber hanging from his side.

“Due to the unfortunate circumstances with LCM Thomas Nitecki which spurred his extended leave, the position of Talon Squadron Flight II FL has opened. CM Dae Cam and I decided that you would be the perfect candidate for this position. As such, I hereby promote you to the position of Flight Leader. Congratulations.” Taking the new insignia offered by an honor guard, COL Smitrock ceremoniously pins it to the uniform of LT Arion.

As the Colonel is about to say more, you hear the whine of engines as a Specter Advanced Missile Boat descends into the hangar. Somewhat shocked, you glance at the members of Talon Flight II, specifically the now awkward looking Flight Leader who stands beside the Wing Commander. However, seeing that all are present, as are their ships, you become more confused. Dismissed by a quick salute, LT Arion quickly makes his way back into formation while COL Smitrock proceeds to rejoin the staff party. As the ship sets down, RA Loruss steps forward with a knowing grin on his face.

As the hatch opens, the new pilot and the Commodore exchange warm greetings. As the pilot removes his helmet, you recognize him as Vice Admiral Wet Willy. RA Loruss ushers him to address the assembled pilots.

“As you know, I am the Combat Operations Officer of the TIE Corps. As such, it is my duty to coordinate all combat engagements. This is quite a large task, and as such, I would like to call Commander Dae Cam forwards.” As the Commander approaches the staff party, the Vice Admiral continues, “Having reviewed the applications from across the fleet, I have decided to appoint CM Dae Cam as the Combat Operations Office’s Assistant. Congradulations, you will begin your duties immediately.”

Turning to RA Jeff Loruss and COL Smitrock, VA Wet Willy continues, “Now, if you would excuse me, we’ve some urgent business to attend to.”…

Competitions:
- Talon Weekly Kill Competition:
- Each week, I assign a battle to be flown. Because Talon is a multi-platform squadron, the battle selection will alternate between TIE, XvT, and XWA.
- Pilot files for the assigned battle are to be submitted to the me before the next Wednesday evening (MTS - Canada) when the weekly report is sent out. The top three scorers from each week will be awarded 3,2, and 1 kill(s) for 1st, 2nd, 3rd respectively. Additionally, to encourage MP activity and interaction among pilots, 1 kill will be awarded to anyone who flies an XvT battle on a team with at least one other pilot. These winners will be announced in the report. Further, on the Talon Squadron homepage each pilot will have his kills painted onto his fighter as a means of keeping track of them. For each 20 kills that a pilot has, he will be awarded an IS-BW. This will be an ongoing competition through the year.
- This week’s Battle will be TC-TIE 77

- Wing Competitions:
-Fly one of the 3 battles according to your desired platform; TC-TIE #26 "The Dark troopers", TC-XvT #5 "Phoenix Saga", TC-XWA #13"Hammer to Anvil Part II" The pilot with the highest score from their platform category wins an IS-BW. Now if a pilot so happens to win all 3 platforms then they get an additional medal (ISM).
- There is another new competition that starts July 26th and will end August 15th.

Its a non-flying comp, the objective is to design a wing Collar for the Wing. The pilot that creates the nicest set will be awarded an IS-BR :)


- Commodore’s Escort:
- As was outlined in the COM’s last report, every two weeks, a mission will be selected. The highest score on said mission will be awarded the title of Commodore’s Escort for the next two weeks, as well as a small competition medal. This period’s assigned mission is: FREE-TIE #1

- Fiction Creation:
- if you are the type of person who enjoys writing fiction, the COM, RA Jeff 'Tiger' Loruss, will accept two submissions of fiction from each pilot per month. The fiction that he likes best will be included with his bi-weekly report, and the writter will recieve a small medal as reward.
