Echo Report # 0 (2001-07-16)

This report was submitted by CPT Strahd

<salute>

Greetings everyone. As you may have noticed, Captain Strahd was having some RL problems. He has informed me that he is making progress in working them out, but that he will need the whole week. We all wish him luck :) I have noticed some of you usually do not do anything. All I ask is that you take 10 minutes to fly EIM#1. Strahd and I are aiming for 100% participation. Pilots and fiction due in to Strahd by July 15th. So get flying! Anyway, on with the report.

Sabacc Online
17:40 - AD Ari [ari@tiecorps.org]
After several days of endless coding, I've finally completed the newest EHNet.org attraction: Sabacc Online! For those of you who aren't familiar with Sabacc, it's a mixture of poker, blackjack and the Star Wars Universe, and is the game in which Lando Calrissian had lost the Millenium Falcon to Han Solo. If you don't know how to play, the rules are on the site, and even if you do know, I suggest you look through them before playing. I'd like to thank Inkwolf for designing the amazing graphics for the cards. You can play Sabacc Online at http://www.ehnet.org/sabacc. Check the Credits page to see updates coming soon in version 2.0!

Empire's Him Magazine
17:33 - SA Kawolski [absurefire@aol.com]
Today saw a new era in the face of TIE Corps males to combat that girly vogue thing that threatened TC manhood and gave our manliest pilots the urge to do needlepoint. Put down that frilly doily because EHM: Empire's Him Magazine has relaunched! Go to http://www.chapmassiv.org/1/index.htm to see the relaunch edition now!

This link goes to a site that contains content for mature men (or immature men who don't get easily offended) only!

Newsletter #76
16:00 - SA Kawolski [absurefire@aol.com]
I promised that NL #76 would be released soon! Here it is! It's a bit smaller than NL #75, but mostly because I was able to shrink the size of the "Battles Completed" section of the Battle Board from a whopping 2mb file to a 500kb file. In this NL, you'll find battle reviews, a look at the new TIE Corps uniforms, and the usual load of stuff. LoAs will be awarded shortly.

You can download NL #76 (4.08 mb) at:
http://www.ehnet.org/nls/hammer76.zip (N. America - Fast)
http://thunder.prohosting.com/~surefire/hammer76.zip (N. America - Medium)

The results for the second Imperial Storm battle have been confirmed. Please click here for a full report of the evening. In summary, Silver Saber completely destroyed all Flaming Arrow forces, but lost several dozen fighters in the process (but none of their capital ships).

TCCOM's Own
14:32 - AD Havoc [Pellaeon2000@cs.com]
Well its that time of month to announce TCCOM's Own. Activity in the TC is pretty good so it was a really hard choice, but one wing thats activity stood out was Wing XV on the ISD Vanguard. Congrats to them, they are TCCOM's Own!

13:27 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]

Sector Rangers and the Imperial Security Bureau
19:27 - AD Slade Holm [jimlholm@yahoo.com ]
As Security Officer I'd like to announce the disbanding of the Sector Rangers, and like the phoenix, rising from the ashes of the Sector Rangers comes the Imperial Security Bureau, a badly needed beginning to a well-deserved end.

From veritable rubble and disorganization into an epitome of uniform and order, the ISB is here to serve you and the entire Emperor's Hammer Strike Fleet, as an effective investigative/reporting agency. I'm sure many of you worry that the ISB is the same thing that the Sector Rangers were, but I assure you this is not true. Unlike the Sector Rangers, the ISB's goal is to report, not to act upon violations of the AoWs and CoCs.

We aren't the police, and wont try to pretend to be. Merely, if we see a violation of Imperial law, it is reported and documented and sent to the Security Office. I sincerely hope you don't automatically look down on the ISB as the bastard son of the SRs, because I would like to put everything the SRs were or stood for behind us. The ISB is just a way to help keep the trouble makers out of the fleet, discourage ill behavior and create a more enjoyable experience for everyone. Membership in the ISB will be very selective, due to the requirement that the organization must remain small in numbers at this present time; so we are seeking only the best and brightest.

If your interested in joining the ISB, and think you have what it takes to represent the Imperial Justice system, please apply: http://www.hailjamie.com/isb/
