Pilots of Koph Squadron:

This week we saw lots of awards go out to Koph members, such as three
CoBs for LCM Torey, COL Vampire, and myself. COL Shadd earned an ISM,
LC Iceman earned an ISM...

...and I got promoted to the rank of Colonel! As I'm sure you all are
well aware I'm extremely happy about this, but I would like to say
that there is no way I could have done it without help from my
squadron. You guys are excellent and I'm thrilled to have you all
here.

But, as they say, there's a war on! As wonderful as you all are, we
are in the middle of a competition with the elite Omega Squadron, and
we only have one submission for it. The competition ends one week from
today, on August 28th. Might I suggest that we all finish basking in
our glory and spend the effort necessary to remind everyone why we are
so privileged as to have glory to bask in in the first place? :)

Some few of you may be old enough to remember an effort that Wing VI
made to start a competition involving a squadron of Wing VI pilots
against a squadron of cadets from the PLT Daedalus as a recruiting
effort. I have officially laid the old incarnation of this competition
to rest in favor of restarting it from scratch. I'm going to wait for
the Omega competition to finish up before announcing any details, but
I think I have a plan that'll work a bit better than the way I was
going about it before.

Finally this week, it is my pleasure to award the Koph Ace of the Week
to COL Shadd for the excellent, detailed walkthroughs he has been
doing of TC-TIE 154 for the Omega competition. Keep up the good work,
Colonel!
