The first COM's own competition is over and Phantom Squadron has won !
Top Gun Super Ace is LCM Deimos with the unbelieveable score of 9,888 points ! He will recieve his well deserved IS-SW soon.
Top Gun on the second place is CPT Gord Darkonian with the score of 9,308 points! He will recieve his IS-BW soon too.
I am very satisfied with the results of Phantom and Flacon squadron. But the rest let me think to change the goals next time. (To get the most low score instead of highscors). I know that some people had/have had problems in Real Life but not all.
I hope the next time some more people will decide to fly or changes will follow.
BTW: Not participating in comps lowers you chances to get a medal for your activity in a month dramatically. With inactivity you let your comrades suffer even if they tried their best. Remember, a low score is better then no score !

Daedalus Motto Competition
Daedalus, a figure of Greek mythology with the honour of being the first man to fly (while watching his dumb son crash back to earth). Daedalus also happens to be the name of a platform used by the TIE Corps to filter out the trash and allow only the best of the best of the best of the students who do okay into the TIE Corps. Soon, we'll be having a Daedalus banner design competition. However, that banner will feature a motto and since we don't have a motto yet, we need to come up with one. That is what this competition is about.
Q. So what do we do?
A. Come up with a motto for Daedalus. It has to be original, suitable for the purpose and aim of Daedalus (ie educating, training, providing pilots for the TIE Corps).
Q. Is there a specific format? How do I submit it?
A. Send your motto to daedalusmotto@imperialacademy.org with the subject "Daedalus Motto Competition". In your email, include the motto and your full ID line.
Q. Okay, enough of that boring stuff. What do I get for winning?
A. First place will get an Iron Star-Platinum Ribbon, second will get a Gold Ribbon, third will get a Silver Ribbon. If a subgroup member places, he or she can be awarded a compariable award specific to their subgroup if they wish.
Q. Who can enter?
A. The competition, like all Training Office-run competitions, is open to all members of the Emperor's Hammer. (This means the TIE Corps, all subgroups, CS, etc, etc.)
Q. When does this fun end?
A. In 2 weeks, on 27th of August (that's a Monday). The winners will be selected and notified. Results will be posted on the TO site, TIE Corps news and in the next TO report.
Shameless Promotion Competition
Soon, the Training Office will begin a regular mailing to Daedalus cadets, informing them about the TC, events within it, tips for training and profiles on TIE Corps ships, wings and squadrons. The best three of each of these areas will be selected for the first 3 issues of the mailing.
Q. So, what do we do?
A. Write a short explanation as to why your ship, wing or squadron should be selected. Criteria used will include quality of writing, supporting evidence and if your submission is funny (or not).
Q. How do we submit it?
A. Send your submission to shameless@imperialacademy.org. Your submission should have the subject line of "Shameless Promotion Competition - Division - Name", where Division is either Ship, Wing or Squadron and Name is the name of your ship/wing/squadron (ie. an Alpha squadron entry would have "Shameless Promotion Competition - Squadron - Alpha" . The body of the submission must start with "I think my ship/wing/squadron is the best because...", then your explanation. Lastly, include your ID Line. Submissions without your ID Line, without a correct subject line or body will be deleted.
Q. What do I get if my masterpiece wins?
A. First placer in each division (ship, wing, squadron) gets an Iron Star-Platinum Ribbon. Second placer gets a Gold Ribbon, while third gets a Silver. The first placing entries will be used in the first mailing, second placer in the second mailing and third in the third mailing.
Q. How long do I have to do this by?
A. Entries close on 27th August 2001 (that's a Monday). The winners will be selected during the week and notified. Results will be posted on the TO site, TC news and in the next TO report.

Also if the Winner is from Falcon Squadron, He will get the Falcon Talon´s Medal
If the Winner is from Black Squadron, He will get a War Cross
