TARTARUS WEEKLY SQUADRON REPORT

TARTARUS SQUADRON
WING XIII of ISD GREY WOLF
WEEKLY SQUADRON REPORT
NR.6
by CMDR/CM DarkC

Well guys....this is the last report untill i leave on vacation. I was afraid that i won't know what to tell you,but due to your excelent activity, this is
going to be a great report:)) I hope you'll enjoy it:)

RECRUITMENT

We are 8 around here at the moment..which i think, considerring all the things that passed lately, is great. We started gaining more and more
citations and i think that for the moment we should leave recruitment on the second place and try to consolidate our present position.Of course,if
any of you can find a real good (and i mean it!) pilot to join us ,don't hesitate...do it!

NEWS

1. Our dear WC Azazel was promoted to LC! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!
2.By the end of the day i'll be leaving on vacation for the next three weeks. Your a-CMDR will be COL Woobee:)) Listen to him and obey his
orders like they were mine....and ...good luck!:))
3. Our internal competition already started ...if you weren't aware of that...lol. So i wanna see some action!
4. SL Song Dynasty was promoted to LT. Congratulations Nick!!...and don't let me down:)

FICTION

Finally here is the second part of Jatz's fiction...lol...i'm sure you'll like it...i surelly did:))
Part 2 of KHADGAR’S TEA
By LT Jatz Crakker
The pilot broke her concentration briefly, and shrugged her shoulders. Strapped firmly inside her TIE-Interceptor, she peered out of her ship’s segmented canopy,
and let her eyes drift around the ISD Grey Wolf’s hanger. Behind her were several other assorted starfighters, held fast in their holding cradles. These craft
comprised Tartarus squadron, the Grey Wolf’s pacification group. Business had been slow for the squadron of late, due largely to the operations that the Grey Wolf
had been assigned. HQ had sent her on more missions to engage Rebel fleets or bands of brigand pirates than to assist in planetary ‘subjucation’. Hence Tartarus
in their pacification role saw less action than most other squadrons onboard.
Today, however, the situation for which Tartarus was designed was rapidly transpiring on the planet below.
The pilot resumed her scrutiny of a red light affixed to the bulkhead, just above the gaping hanger door. COM DarkC, Tartarus’ squadron leader, fidgeted
impatiently, waiting for the order to launch.
‘Uh..ok..has everyone completed a pre-flight checklist?’ she asked for another time into her facemask.
Without barely a pause, COL Woobee replied ‘Yes, awhile ago now Commander.’ The tone of his voice suggested a mild amusement towards his Commander’s
conscientiousness. Back in his gunboat. Woobee reclined a little further in his seat and resumed his contemplative posture. A seasoned veteran of the Grey Wolf,
DarkC assumed Woobee wasn’t particularly concerned about the mission they were about to embark on. He’d probably done thousands of these in his time.
DarkC turned around in her seat and tried to get a look at the craft behind her.
‘How are you doing back there, Jatz?’
‘Yeah I’m still doing my check, Commander…’
DarkC winced at the sound of something breaking. ‘What was that?’ she asked. ‘Uh…nothing…nothing’ Lt Jatz Crakker replied, as he pounded on the display unit
in his bomber. Eventually it flickered to life, albeit sickly.
Jatz took his masked off and sniffed the air, trying to detect where that burning smell was coming from. Oh how he despised these old bombers. He felt mighty
uncomfortable about the 6 heavy bombs sitting in the unshielded compartment beside him. As he tinkered about his cockpit, he mused to himself about the possibility
of a malfunctioning weapon detonating right here inside the hanger. The thought of the Grey Wolf being reduced to vapour around him made Jatz push these thoughts
and that burning smell out of his mind, replacing them by thinking of a rather cheeky dance he once saw at a ‘gentleman’s club’, inauspiciously run by the Hutts.
Suddenly, the red light in front of DarkC turned green.
‘Tartarus, this is Grey Wolf Control, you are green to go!’
DarkC punched the release and pushed the throttle forward on her interceptor. Her stomach churned momentarily as the craft fell through the open hanger door and
out into space. ‘Tartarus, this is Control, form up at buoy 2 and await further orders’
‘This is Tartarus 1-1, roger.’ DarkC replied as steered the interceptor towards the blinking buoy. She took a moment to observe the blue-green planet below.
Flickers of light blinked and flashed all over the surface…laser fire of some sort.
DarkC glanced first at her display, then over her shoulder, and noted the rest of the squadron had formed up at the buoy behind her.
‘Control this is Tartarus, awaiting orders’ she keyed her mike. “This is control’ the operator inside the Grey Wolf’s operations room keyed back ‘Proceed to sector
32-E. Tartarus 1, provide CAP, 2 take targets Alpha and Bravo, 3 provide suppression fire for 2 flight’
‘Roger control’ DarkC, Leslaw and Jatz replied.
‘Jatz’ DarkC called ‘Set up for your bomb run upon entry into the atmosphere. Leslaw, see if you can enter over the ocean, then level out low and come in over
those big gun emplacements near the target. I’m going in now to do a quick sweep for fighters. Don’t be too long Leslaw, Jatz and I don’t want our butts shot off.’
‘Roger, out.’ Jatz , his wingmen Arcadius Calidus and TK-7253 peeled off as DarkC and Capt Banys shot ahead, bearing down on the planet below.
The temperature inside the bomber rose rapidly as the craft rumbled on through the planet’s atmosphere. Jatz started to sweat in his fight suit. Thankfully, the assault
transports were drawing much of the ground fire; Jatz was having a hard time trying to guide the shaking bomber through its rapid descent. His diplay was
unreadable, static crackled across the screen. A wire fell loose from the roof and gave him a sharp shock. ‘Arrghh!!! Sweet Jesus!’ Jatz fumbled around in his suit
for some electrical tape. He was electrocuted twice again before he finally taped the offending wire back in place.
Jatz keyed his mike to speak to his wingman, Arcadius. ‘How’re we holding up?’
‘Damn it, I just got electrocuted…loose wire or something’ Arcadius replied,
‘Really? Me too!’ Jatz exclaimed. He scowled at his own craft. ‘We really need to see someone about these bombers. I’m sure the TIE Corps has enough dough
to replace them…or at least fit shields or something….’
Arcadius added something else uncomplimentary about the craft under breath, than said to Jatz ‘Just keep your AOA from getting too steep, and we should be ok,
here.’
Jatz’s display cleared as the three bombers thundered down into a bright blue sky. All good. He checked his waypoints and targets. Target Alpha was, predictably,
a power generator. This sort of target was common place. Generators powered everything from energy weapons to life support. Taking it out would leave a
yawning gap in the enemys’ defence.
Target Bravo, however appeared to be a vast bunker, heavily reinforced. Probably a HQ, or a shelter for the planets government. An odd feeling suddenly came
over Jatz. He felt detached, and his mind seemed to reach out into that bunker. He could see everything within…Rebel officers, making battle plans….Suddenly,
Jatz snapped out of it. Shrugging his shoulders, and wiping away the dribble which had run down his chin, he popped an asprin.
He had a headache.
NEXT WEEK! Khadgar finishes his bath! And Tartarus get into the thick of it as Tartarus’ gunboats take charge of the situation! And what IS wrong with Jatz’s
head?
The answers; next week in PART 3 of….KHADGAR’S TEA!

POETRY
Didn't get anything from you for this section this week...so i had to think of something...lol

"Too young to fall inlove"
by CM DarkC

When i first met him, i believed
It was a miracle that came into my life
I thought he was the love i have been looking for
How fool of me! I didn't know this love will cut me like a knife
He was only nineteen
He had blue eyes that glow
But he was much too young to fall inlove
And it seems i wasn't old enough to know.

COMPETITIONS

Graphics and fiction competition

Similar one. We really need some material for the webpage so we could outshine our mates from other squadrons. ISM for most creative
people. The same applies to the fiction writters. If it's good enough,ISM is yours. Our home page is improving everyday, but we can make it
better....come on guys,use your imagination!!:))
This started to work as i see....lol..keep them coming!

Tartarus vs Phoenix competition (working on it)

CMDR Wes Janson was on leave this week,so we didn't yet settle the details, but i really think Woobee's idea is great. A citations race would be
great for both of our squadrons. So Woobee will put up a proposal this week and hopefully next week when Wes will get back we;ll get this thing
going:)

Tartarus weekly (august) competition (APROVED!!!!)
Well ...as long as i'll be on vacation most of august,i thought i had to find something to make sure you stay active even while i'm gone...lol
This is how it works:
It will be a weekly competition starting every friday of the month.
The battles that are counted for this one will be TC-TIE #25 - 50 and TC-XvT #11-15
Also fiction or graphics submissions as well as battle creation will be taken into consideration as following:
- each battle flown (no matter the number of missions) - 5 points
- fiction or graphics - 3 points
- battle creation - 5 points
The pilot who will get 25 points or more every week will get an IS-BW.
So guys,as you see the competition already started!!!Come on...where are your submissions?..lol
Anyway...this week's scores so far are:
Leslaw - 25 points (TC-TIE #26,27,30, TC-XvT #12,13)Great work Les...keep it this way and the medal is yours:))
Jatz - 6 points (fiction and graphics)
Woobee - 5 points (TC-TIE #36)

Well , i think it just happened all of a sudden and you didn't get time enough to see how it works, but for next week i really want you to take this
very seriously. Woobee will coordonate this competition so that we'll be able to kill two rabbits on one shot...lol...get points for the competition
and get more citations. So follow his orders:)

New Fleet Wide Comp approching, Everyone to their battleposts
Grand Admiral Thrawn has asked Grand Admiral Stephan Ronin if he was willing to send two top Emperor´s Hammer Squadrons to the ISD
Chimaera to Help Grand Admiral Thrawn in his campaign against the New Republic. To decide which Emperor´s Hammer Squadrons will get
such an Honor the Logistics Office Will run a Fleet Wide Comp.
Rewards are still being decided with Operations Office but It will be more than Honor
It will go like this :
TC Code Red - TC-wide 'Training' Competition
Pilots, you've been sitting on your laurels for too damn long. It's time to get out of the cantina and back into the cockpit. And no, I don't mean your
fancy state-of-the-art Tie Defender with mini bar and shields. You fly with Thrawn, you fly Tie Fighters and Interceptors, or you don't fly at all.

Grand Admiral Thrawn has asked us to produce the two best squadrons in the EH, one equipped with the basic TIE software, and one squadron
with our advanced XvT/XWA system. How we are supposed to pick the best out of you is a mystery to me. I wouldn't trust any of you to fly around
the PLT Daedalus without crashing. But we've devised a plan to get the two most worthy squads aboard the ISD Chimaera in a few months with
the following competition...
Stage One:
TIE Squadrons - Every TC/DB Squadron with TIE software will fly a training battle specifically tailored to the combat situations you might face
aboard the Chimaera. (Thrawn hasn't divulged any of his plans to us yet, so don't assume these will be reproductions of future battles.)
Squadrons will have 2 weeks to complete it. The winner of each Wing will proceed to Stage Two.

XvT/XWA Squadrons (single player only) - Same as above, except with XvT/XWA compatible missions.
Stage Two:
TIE Squadrons - The winners of each wing (along with TIE Elite Squadrons) will compete with a second training battle. Squadrons will have 2
weeks to complete it. The two top squadrons will face each other in Stage Three.

XvT/XWA Squadrons (single player only) - Same as above, except with XvT/XWA compatible missions and XvT/XWA Elite Squadrons.
Stage Three:
TIE Squadrons - The two top squadrons will face off against each other by flying a third and final training mission. Both contenders will have 1
week to complete it. The winning squadron will be transferred to the Chimaera.

XvT/XWA Squadrons (single player only) - Same as above, except with XvT/XWA compatible missions.

Scoring: Laserless scoring, and the determination on scores will be the gross total of the pilots' scores, not the average. So full, active squadrons
will have an advantage. Start recruiting if you're worried.

RECORD OF THE WEEK

Hmmm...maybe we should change the rithm a bit...lol...why don't you listen to "Destiny's Child" this week? "SURVIVOR":))
A bit of R&B won't hurt...lol

Tartarus 2-2 : LTArcadius Calidus : He's on leave for the next two months.Unfortunatelly he's not enjoying his vacation,he was sick almost all

Well guys...as it was expected, someone finally flew that TC-TIE #176..hehe...and he even did it with excelent results:)) Of course i'm talking of our
sweet old Crakker:))
So here are the scores (the battle is still pending for review)
Wes Jatz

Anyway, here's another important issue i want to talk with you about. As you already know,i'm leaving this friday,so for the next three weeks you'll
report in to COL Woobee.
What we achieved last few weeks is really amazing and i don't want to lose this for nothing in the world,so please keep your activity as high as
posible and especially pay very much attention to those competitions. They weren't created just to be there...lol
I was thinking to ask Woobee to send me a weekly report on what exactly you did, but i think he's gonna have a lot of other things to take care of
so i think the best idea would be for you to cc me every bsf you submit,so that i will be able to put the MSE together as soon as i come back:)
I don't think there is much more that i can tell you now, except that "I'm going to miss you all very much!:)"
Well...maybe just one other thing, though i'm not sure i'm supposed to say this....anyway....my birthday is the 18th of august...lol....don't ask me
how old i am...hehe...but as some of you asked me for my post adress,well...here it is;
VIDRASCU CRISTINA
Str. Aleea Barajul Bistritei nr.10
Bl. Y7, et.8, ap.36, sector 3
74656 Bucharest
ROMANIA
Of course this has nothing to do with the squadron...lol....but if anyone misses me that much...feel free to write. I love receiving letters from my
dearest friends:))
Oh..and one more thing (lol...i think i'm starting to sound like LT Colombo...he always remembered something before he left the room....hehe)
i might try to attend the next week GW meeting (on the 17th) but i can't make this a promisse:))

BATTLES TO FLY NEXT WEEK

This time there will be no specific orders for the next week. Just concentrate on that competition and remember...the battles are TC-TIE 25-50
and TC-XvT 11-15. So i think this has to keep you busy enough till i get back...lol
Still....i'm gonna insist on this one thing...i want more citations...in fact i wanna find you with at least 60 when i get back...and i think that as long as
you all practicly fly the same package of battles it won't be that hard to get them. That's why i want you to continuosly keep in touch with eachother
(message board is the best place i think) to know what the most flown battles are and get citations on those. Of course Woobee will also keep an
eye on this and try to lead you...so please listen to him!
The battles flown so far are TC-TIE #26,27,30 and IW-XvT #12,13. So you might as well concentrate on those and get citations as well as points
in the competition:))

FINNAL THOUGHTS
I think i have wasted enough of your time with this report,so before i get really borring i'll just send you all a big sweet kiss:))
Take care of yourselves...fly a lot...have fun...and most important,don't forget your commander:)))
Don't forget i'm going to watch you from whereever i am...lol...and i'll be back..so watch your back...heheheh
