Beth Squadron Report #3 - 08/26/01

INTRODUCTION:

Welcome to the third edition of the Beth Squadron Report. This week has been
somewhat relaxing, and stressful, as people head back to school. The results
of the Summer Bash should be released very soon! And a new CRT will be
starting as soon as I contact Seq about it. Just in case some of you don't
know what a CRT is, I'll be sending the official information on Combat
Readiness Testing later tonight.



SQUADRON NEWS AND ACTIVITY:

Congrats to CPT Cal Sinis, who was awarded the Commendation of Loyalty.

CPT Cal Sinis ran the trivia for Round 3 of the Summer Bash. I failed to
mention this last week, so I figured I'd do it now.

I flew TC-TIE 34 and TC-TIE 77. I am one point away from catching our WC in
the FCHG! :)

Cal, Seth, and I attended the Wing III Meeting this week for Beth Squadron.

I won the weekly trivia held after the meeting. Yay! :)

An idea about a possible squadron competition has been floating around the
FLs and myself. It involves everyone, and not flying. That's all I'm at
liberty to say at the moment. It's still very early in the planning stages.
It should be fun though! :)

A new CRT will be starting as soon as I tally the votes and send the request
to Seq. From the looks of it so far, it'll probably be a mission, not a
battle.

Other than that a very slow week for Beth. I know everyone's getting ready
for school and ending the summer and stuff but we need to get things picked
up a bit. Seq's back and the vacation's over!



WING III NEWS:

CM Josh Popelka also received a CoL. Congrats!

LC Marden returned from leave! Yay, welcome home Seq!

MAJ Jahan Kalar is still on leave.

ORDERS:

Prepare for the CRT that is coming up. Find some time in the next week or
two to set aside to fly a Free Mission. And practice by flying some XWA
battles from the Battle Center. This will also strengthen our Citation list.

Communicate: As always, try to communicate with your squad mates. The
mailing list and message board are both available and very useful forms of
communication. I'd like everyone to try and e-mail me at least once a week
to let me know how you're doing. :)

Go to the cantina and let Cal and Josh buy you a drink!

Recruit! The Wing's numbers have risen this week! Let's keep up the trend!!
I'd like to see Beth Squadron full again.
