Koph Report # 37 (2001-05-16)

This report was submitted by LC Firebird

Pilots of Koph Squadron:

This week saw a great deal of activity from Wing VI, so there's a lot
to report. Sit back with a frosty beverage and read on for details :)

First off this week, we say farewell to LT Canta Jade. She has been on
leave for a month and a half, and we decided it would be best for her
to go to the reserves until her real life got sorted out. Sorry to see
you go, Lieutenant, and I wish you the best of luck.

On a happier note, I'd like to welcome Lieutenant Commander Viresse
Kheeta to Koph Squadron! I walked in on a discussion about where in
the battlegroups she was going to come out of the reserves to, and
managed to convince her that Koph was the way to go :P

Please note that pending approval from the Executive Officer, she will
be changing her name to Torey Medrock.

Better still, I am proud to congratulate Neo Rising on his recent
promotion to the rank of Lieutenant Commander! Your former CMDR in Mem
Squadron sent me your record, and he, Joe and I all agreed that the
promotion was long overdue. Please remember that this promotion is not
only a recognition of past service, but also a pledge to continue your
consistent efforts in the future. Congratulations, Neo!

Congratulations are also in order for Lieutenant Colonel Andrzej
Mezynski, who has been awarded a Palpatine Crescent for being
consistently supportive of the squadron over the last six months. He
has been an excellent role model for me and for everyone in the
squadron, and has not only tried to encourage Koph to participate, but
the entire wing as well. Keep up the excellent work, Iceman!

Finally, I would like to congratulate LT Tac Balon on completing the
IWATS TIE Mission Creation Course. Great job, Tac!

Now... just because Tac, Iceman, Neo, and Viresse are all buying the
drinks tonight doesn't mean we can slack off at all. We've got a whole
slew of competitions to deal with as well. So, here's the lowdown:

First off, and by far most importantly, we have the competition with
Wing V. Fly TC-TIE 171, get the highest score you can, and get your
.tfr to me by May 29th. The top 12 scores from Wing VI will be
compared with the top 12 from Wing V.

Secondly, we've got the cadet competition. The idea is that Wing VI
fields a 12 pilot squadron, and we fly a TC-TIE against 11 Alpha
Company cadets, with one of our pilots as their CMDR. We hope this
will encourage some of them to join Wing VI, and give the wing some
publicity, but also it should just be a lot of fun. If you aren't
already on the list, let me know and I'll sign you up. More details
will be released once we fill up Wing VI's squadron.

Next, I'd like to conclude the Timbal Twister Tournament. LT Tac Balon
was the only one to make a submission, and while I'm surprised that
nobody else participated I am just as guilty myself. So...
congratulations, Tac! Please add "TTT" to your squadron ID line.

Your new ID line is:
LT Tac Balon - TTT/KA

Finally, we have COL Inkwolf's SovMan competition. SovMan is the SSSD
Sovereign's very own superhero, but currently he is without a costume!
Your submission may be any sort of art, and must be submitted to COL
Inkwolf at inkwolf@earthlink.net by June 15th. Good luck, and be sure
to share your submissions with the squadron :)

Speaking of squadron ID lines, here's another item some of you can add
to them. LC Iceman and LCM Sandor Clegane, please add "SCE" to your
squadron ID lines for being in the squadron when we won an SCE.

Here are your new ID lines:
LC Firebird - WCOx2/XIV/SCE/BLK/KA
LC Iceman - WCOx2/XIV/SCE/BLK/KAx8
LCM Clegane - SCE/KAx5

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for... the Koph Ace of the
Week! This week, the Ace goes to LCM Viresse Kheeta not only because
it's traditional to give it to our new pilots on their first week, but
also because she has already submitted a battle and been very active
on IRC. Keep up the good work :)
