This report was submitted by CM Strahd

<Salute>

Ok everyone, I have lots of info and things here to get to. So take a seat and lets begin. I want to thank you for the increase in activity but now, we may have to push a bit harder...I'll explain in the squad news section. But needless to say. We are looking much better than a few weeks ago when I first started as commander. Keep it up!

Grey Wolf Commodore appointed
05:34 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
Many congratulations to Rear Admiral Khadgar who has been appointed as the new Commodore for the ISD Grey Wolf!

VanCOM promoted
05:31 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
At the recommendation of Vice Admiral Cyric and with full support from the Flight Office, current Vanguard Commodore, RA Ender mBind has been promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral for the tireless work he's done for his Command, and the continued dedication he's shown!

Admiral Jarak Maldon resigns
05:22 - FA Priyum Patel [spellfire@btinternet.com]
Last night during the TIE Corps meeting, AD Jarak Maldon announced his decision to retire from his position as Battlegroups Commander. This was sent out from him:

Friends,
A time comes for everything to come to an end. Indeed the sun as set on my time as Battlegroup Commander. I've served since September of 2000 until now, a total time of nearly eight months. During that time I can easily say I had the most fun in the Emperor's Hammer of my entire career. I've done a lot of things, met a lot of fine people, and made quite a few friends. That is why it saddens me to leave.
During my time some have called me the greatest Battlegroup Commander there was. I don't know if that is true, as I find it hard to believe I can rival people like Kyle Kessler and Valtane Ricaud, but it still makes me feel very appreciated. I am glad to have served in this position and if I was indeed the best then I hope whoever comes next will be better.
Many ask, why are you doing this? One of the primary rules in the Emperor's Hammer is to have fun, to enjoy yourself. Over the past few weeks I have found my time to be short and my involvement in this fine organization to be just another chore to be done alongside everything in my life. The coming time ahead will be equally as hectic, and if I were to continue I would only do harm to the stable Battlegroups. I don't know what I'll do next, perhaps wait in the reserves for a while and pursue a position in the command staff, maybe as an attaché or even an inquisitor. I don't know yet.
I would like to take the time to thank several people for making my experience very enjoyable here. First off is the command and the crew of the Imperial Star Destroyer Relentless. When I came here from the command staff I was openly accepted into the command of this ship despite the fact I wasn't a long-standing member. I served there as Wing Commander and Commodore and I still think they are the finest bunch of merry officers there is. They know how to have fun and be active. For this reason they are truly a fine jewel in the crown that is the TIE Corps.
Next I would like to offer my thanks to Valtane Ricaud, current commander of the Relentless. Val was there as COM when I became the WC and he was more than willing to show me how to do the job right. When he ascended to BGCOM and I to his old position he was always willing to give me pointers and much-needed advice. He understood command more than anyone I ever knew in the Emperor's Hammer and was always willing to help. For that I am very grateful. Good luck, Ricaud.
Kyle Kessler was always a helpful person. He was a Flight Officer that was willing to take time and help out with my command of the Relentless, even it meant yelling at me silly for stupid crap I did. Kessler made sure I did my job and I have him to thank for keeping me in line and performing my best. You are one of the best officers this organization has ever seen, Kess. Best of luck to you in the future.
The subject of Kessler gets me to Tornado Squadron. They took me in when the command staff spit me out and gave me a good home until I left for wing commandership. I didn't spend much time there but I was convinced that they were the most active, dedicated group of people I'd ever meet. Now they are elite vets and still as hale as ever. I have no doubt they'll give other squadrons hell for a long time to come.
Vice Admiral Adrenaline was inspiration to me since she was, and still is, such an excellent commodore. I've never seen someone so devoted to a ship as Adren is to the Immortal. That is what command is all about, involvement. I hope you continue your career in the Emperor's Hammer to the greatness you have now as the Immortal's COM.
This goes way back to my days in Wing I, but it is still important. The first true commander I've ever known was General Wolly. It has been a long time since I've served under him and we've not always been on the best of terms, but I still admire his endurance. He has served for years as the commander of Wing I, and that takes a lot of effort. I can easily say I respect Wolly a great deal. I hope that his command continues for a long time to come. And finally my best regards to the TIE Corps Battlegroups. You are the best I've ever seen. I hope you continue to be one of the greatest units in the TIE Corps. Treat your new BGCOM well and never forget those who came before. Never forget the efforts of Rapier, Piett, Kessler, Ricaud, Theodore, and myself. The position of Battlegroup Commander isn't a worthless one, no, it is one with tremendous worth. I was glad to have called myself a Battlegroup Commander. To me it was a great honor.
And now the time has come for me to go. Goodbye, everyone, and good luck.

Glory to the Empire! Glory to the Emperor's Hammer!

Admiral Jarak Altivs Maldon

With this, I will be taking applications for a new Battlegroup Commander. The requirements and qualifications are as follows:

  • You must have been in the TIE Corps for at least 1 year
  • You must have held the position of Wing Commander and be ranked Lieutenant Colonel or higher
  • Applications should contain a brief summary of your history of Command in the TIE Corps (and not other Subgroups)
  • You must be familiar with the workings of the Fleet (protocols, policies etc)
  • The important bit: I want you to tell me why you want the position of BGCOM, what role you see the BGCOM plays in the TC and why you think you should be appointed to the position

All applications should be sent to spellfire@btinternet.com & pellaeon2000@cs.com by this Friday. If you've already sent an application that doesn't contain what I've asked for above, then please send it again. You may list up to 1 reference, but do NOT get people to email me on your behalf - doing so will automatically disqualify you.

Vanguard Competition Results!
submitted by: VA Ender mBind

Allright! Yesterday was the last day of the Vanguard Competition, we've collected the scores and came to these results:
Squadrons:
1. Echo Squadron: 134 Points
2. Wasp Squadron: 93 Points
3. Mantis Squadron: 33 Points
4. Python Squadron: 14 Points
Congrats Echo! You'll be having me in your squad for the next 2 weeks.... i hope you guys have a spot in the T/B Flight for me;)

Pilots: (top 5)
1. CM Strahd (Echo) - 119 Points
2. LT Argos Staneth (Wasp) - 58 Points
3. MAJ Jdf1984 (Wasp) - 21 Points
4. COL Garik Hizad (Mantis) - 20 Points
5. CPT CrazyR2 (Python) - 14 Points
Congrats Strahd and Staneth, you'll be getting your medals (IS-SW and -BW) ASAP! Great work!

If you think a mistake has been made, contact me very soon - so I can correct it. I doubt the outcome of Echo, Strahd and Staneth winning will change by that though... but for the record:)
Generally there has been very good activity all round, though Python seems to have been slacking off a bit. About 1/3rd of the wing participated, which is definitely not a bad score:)

Getting a new Wing XV Commander...
submitted by: VA Ender mBind

Upon RA Khadgar's promotion to GWCOM we have been put into a WCless period again:(
Currently I'm looking for the following in a WC, though that is ofcourse not as hard as it looks, more flexible like:

- At least 2 successful months of CMDR of a Wing XV Squadron sometime in TC career.
- Have flown a few battles and Missions listed for XWA
- Have at the very least 20 LoC's
- Have a good working knowledge of the ASF and the Vanguard
- Should be adept at keeping members active and entertained
- Should be able to do BSFs promptly (within a day)
- Should be to do Wing Reports on time
- Have enough HTML knowledge to add news/office/etc to the Vanguard site
- Be online daily, preferably on IRC as well. (I prefer to do wing/ship business over this medium)
- Agree to stay on long enough in this same position. (enough being at least 3 months, preferably double that).

As you can see, I definitely want to next WC to be Vanguard "home grown", but that first requireement does narrow it down quite a lot. (only (ex) Vanguard CMDRs) The people for who this aplies will get a more elaborate "invitation" email today. The rest of the requirements come from a long time of experiance in WC/COM by Khadgar,Cyric and me. The first few requirements are practically the same as those for GWCOM were, as that is what VA Cyric looks for in his ASF staff.
I'm hoping to have everything arranged within the next few days, before the weekend we'll have a new WC:) (unless I get flak from above ofcourse;P )
note: unless you really sure you are the exception to the rule, please do not apply unless you get this invitation to apply

Wing XV WC promoted to GW COM
submitted by: VA Cyric

I am announcing the new COM of the ISD Greywolf. This has been a very difficult decision for me because I want to make sure that the ISD Greywolf is left in capable hands. She has a new WC in Maj Azazel and I needed to find a perfect fit. I am confident that the person chosen will lead the GW into the future and glory that it has seen in the past and I am confident that this person is the best fit for the ASF!!

So with out further ado, I Present the new Commodore of the ISD Greywolf, Flag Ship of the Aggressor Strike Fleet:
Ra Khadgar

Congratulations Khadgar!

Update from the Wing Commander
submitted by: LC Khadgar

First off, Congratulations to all who recieved MSE Medals or Promotions for their activity, well done, pilots!

Second, I've selected the WC's Own for April 2000... Wasp Squadron! For the third time in a row, Wasp Squadron has proven themselves to be the Squadron with the most overall activity and active participants. They have fully earned this honor for the third time (someone stop them! :P).... Congratulations!

Third, I've sent out a unofficial Competition scores update, if you didn't get it or think your score is wrong, E-Mail me!

Squadron News:

First: Activity is up! The people who were the most active last week are keeping things going well for Echo. It's a good thing too cause I think I might have got us into a bit of a comp here with Wasp. I kinda told Wasp squadron's Cmdr MAJ Jdf1984 that if he gets WC's own again, he can rename our mottos and nicknames and if we win, we can do the same to his squad...so I'll need plenty of BSFs across my desk. Msg board activity is good as well. Anything that will make up  visible needs to be done...I'm counting on you all. This is our first real test...let's show em what we can do!

Second: We gained 2 new squadron citations this week. We also beat out Wasp at the Vanguard comp. Thank you LT Blair Vallyn and LT Da'Ger for participating.

Third: operation supremacy is still going. We have been paired up with Copperhead...here's the info I received...

This first round will be 10 days long, that means that the last matches have
to be reported on the 17th. Inform you squadrons and get them flying!
Here a little reminder how to challenge opponents: Mail the pilot of the
enemy squadron, or all at once, with a challenge, tell them some times when you
are available and ask for times when they are available. I will update the
page with the new stats of the squadrons soon. Matches are to be reported to
me, CCed the person you flew against. If you got any questions, check the
"rules"-part of the website first. If you can't find what you want to know there,
mail me. Ok, now to the matches:

1.) Avenger Squadron versus Cobra Squadron
2.) Viper Squadron versus Asp Squadron
3.) Krayt Squadron versus Crusader Squadron
4.) ASF CommandStaff versus Tartarus Squadron
5.) Phoenix Squadron versus Vortex Squadron
6.) Python Squadron versus Mantis Squadron
7.) Copperhead Squadron versus Echo Squadron
8.) Valkyrie Squadron versus Wasp Squadron

I wish you all good luck, and...GET FLYING! =P

Fourth: With all these competitions, it might be hard to decide which to fly in. I would like Operation Supremacy to take priority...please contact anyone from Copperhead and ask for matches...I myself haven't received any requests as of yet. I'm thinking we'll have to make the first move again. (like Asp). Hopefully we'll get a better response...I shall include Copperhead's roster here for E-mail purposes...

Fifth: I have started a MP training event on #Vanguard for those of you who are shy or don't want to get beaten to a pulp at thursday night training. It is held every Thursday from 8:30 pm to 11:00 pm EST. Spread the news!
