Squadron News

a.. New old Demon - CPT Braxton has rejoined Demon! My former FL just couln'd let go of his old squadron, and who can blame him :P You join us now in some hectic times so any help whatsoever would be appriciated. p.s. Now I finally don't have to salute you anymore >=P

b.. Another retirement - Former FL/XO COL Marc, recently stepped down, has now asked to be moved to the reserves. In his own words "...I thought my run this time would be different, the more I find it's exactly the same as the last time..." I have nothing to add to this although I find it a pitty, especially now Demon is going through some difficult times. As soon as the FO approves of it your shuttle for the 'Phoenix' will depart. Good luck Marc, be sure to say hello to Lito and Raistlin.

c.. Demon Homepage - With Marc's departure this means we'll be needing a new homepage too. Before we start on a new one I would suggest we first decide with the !Entire! squadron how it should look like. Offcourse this also means someone has to take the duty of constructing it. Please send ideas throught the e-group. I have some ideas about it myself though; The new page has to be easy maintainable, the bigger it is with lots of information that needs to be updated frequently the sooner it gets out of date. So if possible it must be accessible for me :P to update, in the end a CMDR is responsible for it and it allows me to maintain (read) *some* parts so it isn't one's job only. Any other ideas would be appriciated offcourse :)

d.. Immortal competition - The top twelfe squadron is known, with FM/LCM Deimos as top pilot. As my position requires I offcourse had to be in it *ghough ghough* ;P and placed as 4th. More data about the future comp against the Colossus is not yet available but won't be too far off. Expect all of us to protect the Immortal's Honor if it were our own.

e.. Immortal Honor Guard - At the moment only me holds the Golden batallion in our squadron. Yay me! :) ( FYI - to get on the Honor List you must have flown all XWA battles free missions , and to get the Golden Batallion you must have at least 5 High Scores as well ) http://www.webroot.net/immortal/honor.html


Squadron Status

a.. FL stuff - From now on I want to receive weekly FL reports >=P These report have to include what your flightgroup is doing at the moment and what plans there are for next week. Just a small mail will do, but failing to do so may result in me have to find a new FL ;P

b.. Weekly Comp. - We had till today to fly! A bit disappointing I was the only one to submit a pilotfile. I really thought flying one Free mission wasn't too hard to fly :P let's try this again. Free-XWA-2 is the mission for next Sunday. I expect to actually receive pilotfiles this time :P

c.. Mind Breaker - From today we will start another continues Demon competition. Crsepe has come up with the idea of an Mind Breaker game to keep us sharp. The rules are easy but the game is not :P This is how the game works, I quote.. "This is the first of hopefully many mind breakers. As a helpfull hint every two numbers represents a letter in the alphabet. So 01 is a letter in the alphabet."
You won't get medals for this and it's primary for your own interest, but showing some efforts in deciphering it does your MSE good :P Here is the first one, if none has found the code Crsepe will give a hint after Thursday. >> 0125010518 020823 15090106, 230410 0125010518 020823 050108111118 1109250106 << have fun :)

d.. Short leave - Next weekend I'll be on a short holliday. That means that Fryday till Monday-evening is one big party for me :) In no condition to write a report I've asked Kadath to take over for the weekend. Perhaps we than get a real report for once ;P Till Thursday all mail can be send to me only, after that make sure to cc Kadath so he can add it to the report.

e.. Wing cantina - Everytime I add something the big black hole increases. I believe I might have built it a bit too big so I'll have to remove some parts of it and make it smaller. Please tell me what you think should be included in a cantina at the very least (except from the bar ;P). Cantina pictures should also be possible to put on the future Demon homepage.

f.. Citations - 32!! Enjoy this for as long as it lasts. With the departure of Marc next week we will be down to 5 and that means no citations :(

Personal note: we have some nice projects going at this moment. Though we don't all fly as much as I would like (that includes me) activity is generally good and the ideas suggested by you guys is appriciated too. (Crsepe for the code and Kadath for the weekly comp) Furthermore the Demon history is a nice project although I don't really have an idea how to start (my hope rests on Crsepe's shoulders :P). Furthermore I really hope we can together come up with ideas for a new demonsite and next week offcourse LT Kadath is in command, that doen't mean you guys can drink all the Chaquila just because I'm gone ;P I'm convident he'll do an excellent job.
