[SALUTE]

OK so raise the Flag is over for another year, still waiting to read about who flew what and who won what and where but here’s my understanding of the state of play.

We did pretty well. I saw flying missions from myself, Kaisin, Witcher, Mickk and Brin, there was a slight mishap, (I believe) with one of Brin’s files and Witchers file as they were lost in the high-score review queue, however that was reported and was hopefully rectified. I also note that Brin managed to use the imedifferences to his advantage and flew at times when he was supposed to be asleep, (nice one Brin…oh and BAD Brin as well…sleep is a necessary part of life you know!)

I believe that Kaisin and myself both submitted graphics and fiction entries to ramp up the points a little.

However, on pretty much the last day of the competition Zos over on the Challenge decided to drop in 317 mission files. Now I flew every spare hour I had and I only flew 180 odd with about 40 lost due to crashes last missions not completing and other annoying bugs. It’s kind of frustrating but even I can’t compete with that kind of numbers. Since I took over Wing VI I’ve always tried to do as much as I can in order to cancel out the highest flying pilot in RtF to give the rest of you a chance; last time it was Zos, this time it was Kenath Zoron, (until Zos joined in again that is) and generally I’ve been pretty sucessful. However what I can’t cancel out is the general increase in flying activity that other ships can call upon. Even without Zos’ ship-beating score I’m pretty sure the Challenge managed to pull together a team performance that would have beaten our efforts. It’s disappointing in the extreme.

I thank every single person that stood up and attempted to help the Warrior win RtF, but if you look at the kill board you can see the number of people that joined in from the other ships. We simply cannot compete with that with so few people getting involved. There’s a lesson there guys, it doesn’t matter how small the contribution it all adds up to the final points score.

Let’s draw a line under things there then until next time.

Now, can anyone tell me why the cap-ships and fighters keep disappearing off my screen in XWA, I can’t tell you how daft it is to be strafing a cap-ship only to watch it disappear from my screen as I’m flying towards it!

Anyone got a clue?

Activity

Wow we had flying activity, e-mail chatter and graphics and fiction entries for Raise the Flag it was a better time for any of us.

Can we try and keep this up…

Summary

Well another competition goes by with both pleasing and disappointing things to take from Wing VI. Thanks again to all that got involved, no matter how small your contribution; a big raspberry to those that didn’t.

Next stop, back to the ‘History of the ISD Warrior’, now wouldn’t that make a nice addition to the mission compendium
