* From now on the following applies to Praetorian:

-Joining Praetorian; In order to join you must not only be a top pilot and complete the training mission, but also to understand the ways of Praetorian. In order to do so, each pilot who wants to join has to take the Praetorian Course at http://www.gac.edu/~lowen/courses/pra-course.html and then complete the on-line test http://www.gac.edu/~lowen/tests/pra-test.txt with a minimum result of 80%.

-Tour of Duty; Once a pilot completes his/her Praetorian training, he/she has to sign a contract for how long he/she intend to stay (2, 4 or 6 months). Then after let's say 2 months, and the pilot wish to stay longer, he/she has to extend the contract for an additional 2, 4 or 6 months. Leaving without a valid reason after signing the contract will give you a permanent ban from Praetorian.

By having a Tour of Duty, people can't just join for a week or two just cause they feel like it. This way the pilots will trust and get to know each other better, and the squad will get stronger.

-Competitions; If a pilot fails to submit a .tfr for an important competition (without a valid reason), then he/she will receive one warning. If this occurs again, he/she shall be dismissed from Praetorian. If a pilot knows that he/she won't be able to participate in a competiton, then he/she will supply the CMDR with a valid reason for not participating, and then turn his/her leave status on.

-General Flying; Flying with in-game cheats are not to be tolerated while being a pilot in Praetorian. If a pilot submits a battle/mission where cheats has been used, it will not be BSF'd. Only in extreme cases in-game cheats will be allowed.

My ambition, as well as the Commodore's is to make Praetorian more strict, and more elite. Not just elite by name or flying, but also by attitude and knowledge.

More details such as Praetorian XO, taking the Praetorian test and any additional rules etc. will be presented when the SL2K results has been announced and when all of those who are leaving the squadron has done so. No contracts will be signed until after the SL2K, none except one...

Tour of Duty Contract - June 10th, 2001

I Lord Linkan agrees to stay in Praetorian for a time of 6 months, starting June 10th, 2001. After those 6 months on December 10th, 2001 I will either extend my tour of duty, or resign my post. I agree to fulfill the duties requested of me, and to serve Praetorian and those who are with me.

* Still nothing from the SL2K judges. Highly annoying.

* I got a zip file from Colonel Shadd the other night containing Praetorian history and some homepage material. That means we will have a homepage in a relatively short future, both with new and old material. Stay tuned.

* Another nice thing is that Commander Kyle Katarn of Avenger squadron has provided me with silver colored FCHG stripes that matches our uniform much better than the golden ones. Big thank you Kyle! Kyle also offers his services if anyone wants a uniform created.

* For some reason I am unable to BSF. Maybe I have to download a new version of IE, I'm not sure. However, it seems I'm not the only one having these problems. So for now, send your files to our Commodore for BSF'ing.
