On June 1st this years TIE Corps Exercise: Squadron (Re)Mobilization 5 begins and runs until the end of the month.
This is a annual contest that has the TIE Corps Squadrons attempt to complete a series of challenges, the prizes on offer being both individual accolades and squadron benefits. This year squadrons that complete a set number of objectives have the ability to change their objectives (outlined in the Pilots Manual here) and potentially the fighters that they fly, completing more tasks gives you access to the higher levels on the list which can be found at the bottom of the competition description.

When you hover over a task you'll see the break down as all the tasks have been broken into four sections allowing you to mix and match completed chunks. You'll also see that the target scores vary between squadrons as they take the size of the squadron into account. Please note that some tasks that do not make use of the database are only tracked via the Warfare Officer.

In the lull following our recent battles against the Ishtari, and coinciding with Squadron ReMobilization, we have decided to work with local security forces in order to help build up their resistance to further attacks and improve our relationships with nearby factions.
Summer SLAM: From June 2nd through 11th, join the Battlestats Discord Server and participate in randomized Squadrons Dogfight matches. Join any group, and matches will be shuffled between all members- you may find yourself fighting with or against other EH members, TRA, and any other groups who join in. (Which means three different ReMob goals are in play!)
Note: you will need an account on battlestats.com. If you need help, ask your local COOA or the COO.
tl;dr: join BSC Discord, hop into a voice channel, and fly in randomized teams for fun matches.

The top ten pilots ranked in the EH organization will earn an IS-GW/SW/SW/BW/BW/BW/CW/CW/CW. Pilots who win at least five matches will earn an IAR. If the top pilot wins at least 3 more games than they lose, they will earn a DFC instead of an IS-GW.

Pilots of the TIE Corps,
Ace of the TIE Corps, our annual competition is undergoing a bit of a revamp. Going forward we will be adopting a seasonal schedule running three, four month competitions during the course of a calendar year. We will also be scoring each of the three streams (Single Player, PvP and PvE) using points based on the platform used. This scoring system will also be used in the upcoming Squadron ReMobilization competition, but does allow us to tweak values between rounds if required.
Practically, this means that the current Ace of the TIE Corps scoreboard has been scored for January 1st to April 30th and closed using the older scoring system. Going forward Season Two is deemed to have run from May 1st to August 31st, and Season Three September 1st to December 31st.

We did a soft launch of support for member fiction uploads last week. After a few helpful observations by initial users, we’ve made some additional changes to make it easier and more consistent to use.

Initial support for member fiction uploads:
- Members can self-upload fiction items using either file upload (PDF or plain text) or text-entry options. Fiction items may be made public or restricted to viewing by EH members only. Fiction items may also be associated with a competition, or up to three EH units.
- The new Fiction Center allows you to view and search for member fiction.
- At a later date, fiction items related to unit(s) will be available from the unit's roster page after approval by the respective unit commander.

When uploading fiction as text, the content is now processed to display paragraphs in a standardized format (consistent spacing and first line indent) regardless of the type or number of line breaks used. This should make pasting content from another application significantly easier.

There is now a preview option when preparing fiction submissions (if you're using the 'text entry' upload source).

Removed the authentication requirement for viewing the Fiction Center, which was not intended. (Individual fiction items may still be marked members-only by their creator.)

The site now supports a small avatar image (PNG, 128x128) for your character. It is displayed on your profile, and certain places you interact with comment (for example: posting comments). Multi-character members are able to set an avatar for each. Avatars can be set under the "Edit profile and preferences" management menu option under the new "Character Profile" tab.

The site now supports posting comments in response to officer reports. Authors of reports will receive a notification when you post to their item. (As an aside, we built out the comments functionality as a generic component that we can plug into multiple site areas, so except this to pop up on some other sections in the near future.) A new notification type preference was added to receive notifications when comments are submitted for items you created. By default for new users and users without explicit preferences this will be delivered by daily digest. Users with existing notification preferences who which to receive this notification type by email should set it in the Notification Preferences section.

"For Non-General activity during the period from January through April of 2023 including writing squadron reports and documenting activity, providing X56 HOTAS flight control programming to those in need, providing an updated squadron report template to the community for ease of use and legibility, running the Sinfantry Training competition, creating an IU rating course for the SOO’s use, maintaining the Airlock Podcast feed, maintaining the community map for EH members, and fixing issues with the XWA EH ship patch installer to work with Windows 10 as well as fixing lighting problems with XWAU and TFTC in custom missions Major andr3 deserves special recognition.
In addition to these merits already above and beyond the call of a normal tour of duty, the Major spent a good amount of their time building and implementing a new MSE tracker for CMDR’s that helps them better track everything from promotion eligibility to Imperial Achievement Ribbon status. Every Commander who has implemented this system has reported it has reduced their overall workload by a fair margin.
The effort involved coupled with the tremendous impact to the community leads me to recommend the Gold Star of the Empire for Major andr3."
Indeed the activities of Major andr3 have had a big impact on the MSE process so far, and many CMDRs enjoy using the new tracking system.
I can only assume that an even bigger part of our community is enjoying a working patch installer in Windows 10.
Overall, I believe this Gold Star of the Empire is the correct, and a well deserved award for all this activity in the first trimester.

"For Non-General activity from January through April of 2023, Lieutenant Colonel Vapen Van’an deserves special recognition.
During this time he filed 4 squadron reports, attended 7 CMDR+ meetings, and contributed heavily to the planning and strategy around Imperial Storm V. Furthermore, during this same timeframe, he also ran the Puzzle Competition to it’s end and started into its second season, created and managed the TIE Corps Elevator Pitch initiative, worked to update the Imperial Achievement Ribbon Wiki page, and helped his pilots get their helmets lined out by facilitating the voting on and subsequent distribution of the materials.
To add to all of this, the Lieutenant Colonel took on the exhaustive task of animating the map and movement of Imperial Storm IV to better engage the pilots of the TIE Corps ahead of Imperial Storm V. The effort involved here was of herculean proportion and went a long way towards hyping up the new event.
It is for these reasons that I can heartily recommend that Vapen Van’an be awarded the Gold Star of the Empire. His selfless dedication to the his squadron, battlegroup, and the TIE Corps as a whole has been nothing short of awe inspiring."
Indeed the activities of LC Van'an have convinced me that this is the award to go for the first trimester of the year.

The Training Office is proud to announce the release of the last two Systems courses for the Alpha Sector, as well as a new Certification to tie them all in together. Systems: Phare and Systems: Carrida & Lantare were the two final courses to complete the Certificate in Spatial Geography (Alpha).
With the introduction of the Spatial Geography certification, we will begin to work on our next Graduate level qualification, Naval Studies.

As our Strategic Operations Officer for three years and counting, AD John T. Clark has been making sure that our evaluation awards are being presented on the ambitious schedule we’ve chosen in addition to handling all the other award recommendations the Corps generates constantly. As the Corps has expanded, that task has become increasingly arduous and Clark has not only maintained a good pace on those but taken on promotion approvals and certain roster transfer processes. As a member of the TIE Corps Command Staff, Clark’s input has been insightful and well-reasoned which has been quite helpful in the complex decisions we make at that level. I’m proud of the work he’s done for us and I’m pleased that I’m here to present him with another landmark step in his career, his promotion to Fleet Admiral. Congratulations, FA John T. Clark!
