My connection has been shot down earlier this week, someone thought it was wiser to wait for the return from holidays of the domain administrator next week to deal with the virus which crashed the mail server, disconnecting everyone for the time being. Consider me on leave until someone competent solves the problem here :P

The new Commander for Praetorian has been picked - congratulations to Commander Loor.

This is seven day notice to announce that the EH Database will be taken off-line next Saturday. XO Astatine and the SGCOMs of the Fringe, Corporate Division, and Imperial Senate will each receive most of the data from the EH Database with the exception of message board posts.

This will in no way affect the TIE Corps, as it is not part of the EH Database. The TIE Corps website will remain online until GA Ronin sets up his server account and everything is transferred to him.

All bug reported so far have been corrected by the Tactical Office. The goal was to reach this objective for March 1st, it happened earlier than planned. This is only the second time since the Battle Center exists that all bug reports have been dealt with (first one was around november 2000 during my first tenure as TAC). So far 1,427 bug reports have been posted and dealt with. This doesn't mean all missions are bug free, keep writing bug reports if you encounter a real bug, when flying the latest version of a battle; but I guess there shouldn't be a lot, people would have noticed them through the years.

After sifting through many excellent applications, Vice Admiral Proton has selected a new Wing Commander for Wing I: Congratulations go out to Lieutenant Colonel Murad Ibn Mark!

Make sure you are flying the up-to-date version of a battle if you seem to encounter a bug. Bug correction is the current top priority of the Tactical Office, and updated versions are released every day or so. As it takes as much time to correct a bug as to check a mission for which an already corrected bug has been reported, you will save us some time and allow us to even correct other bugs much faster. There are currently two positions open in the TIE Corps to applications from the general membership.

The first of these is the position of Wing I WC. Applicants are expected to be able to meet the WC requirements as listed in the Training Manual. In addition, familiarity with both TIE and XWA is required, as well as absolute reliabilty. All applications should be sent to Fleet Admiral Priyum and Vice Admiral Proton with Wing I Application in the subject of the email.

The second position is that of Praetorian Commander. Applicants are expected to meet all the usual requirements of the Squadron Commander. Some experience as a Commander is essential. Membership in the Intel Division is not required, but as PraeCMDR, you will be expected to work with them. Remeber that Praetorian is an Elite Squadron, and as such, a high standard will be required from those interested. Applications for this position should be sent to Fleet Admiral Priyum and Rear Admiral Jordynn with PraeCMDR Application in the subject of the email. Good luck.

A quick message to wish a very happy birthday to my CA, Admiral Havoc, who turns 17 today! If I remember correctly, top of his birthday wish list was spankings from the crew of the Challenge...so hop to it lads.

That's right! Since the beginning of the recorded AoT history, there has now been exactly 1000 courses passed!! We are the first academy other than IWATS to hit this mark! The lucky person to be the 1000th test taker was Mejas Doto, who just joined and is now in DiploServe!

For the benefit of those that didn't bother reading my last report, there is currently a ban on ALL new clones within the TIE Corps (this won't affect any existing clones). This also serves as a timely reminder that clones must be registered with the Flight Office. If you do have a clone and are unsure as to whether or not it's been registered, then just send me an email with all the relevant details (clone information will be kept confidential if desired).

Remember that illegal clones are treated as AoW violations.

The only disappointement is the low participation compared to the first edition, though more time was given and more advertisement was made. I guess December is not an as good as time for activty than during summer, but I can't change the date of the EH's Birthday ;) The next edition will take place during July, results to be released for the FC's Birthday. Rating of the submissions was made prior any correction, TIE and XWA submissions were reviewed and corrected by TAC/FA Striker, XvT ones by CA:TAC/VA Marcin Szydlowski, and no tug was harmed during the testing. Today the Prelude to Andevia competition starts. It is open to ALL members of the Emperor's Hammer, regardless of subgroup, rank or position. It features flying, design, fiction and other events. The competition website is available at http://www.imperialacademy.org/comps/prelude/.

Skipping a mission is only tolerated in case of a fatal bug, which is extremely rare these days. If the procedure stated in the cheating policy is not followed, the BSF is simply cancelled without any notification (because the database doesn't support it yet). Actually, skipping a mission for any reason may be forbidden in a near future, if people keep ignoring the procedures.

We have been seeing a lot of people using unknown commands and scripts on IRC channels recently, some of which can be malicious to your IRC Client.
These scripts work primarily on human operators running the scripts out of curiosity and infect the victims IRC Client. I would like to advise all members of the Emperor's Hammer that it is usually a very bad idea to run any script you do not know exactly what it does from the code as it can do damage to your client and also if malicious may well earn you a ban and HCI trial.
