XvT-XWA Competition

CPT Shups

30 November, 1999 08:06
7 ABY
Since Major Ace Pilot has been promoted to WC, the competition he was hosting for XvT-XWA has been passed to me due to his time constraints. Therefore, I would ask that all pilots who are interested in a fleet wide contest for either game platform contact me. My idea for settling this comp is to have a single player elimination on a set time and date for both platforms, perhaps hosting it on the zone. If you didn't previously sign up for this multiplayer melee, feel free to contact me at: shups@bellatlantic.net

7 ABY
Colonel Kaerner, commanding officer of the Elite Dark Brotherhood's Tau Squadron, was today promoted to the rank of General at the request of CA:XO/Admiral Tron and with the approval and congratulations of the Acting Fleet Comander - Sector Admiral Compton.
General Kaerner's dedication to the Fleet in general and Tau Squadron in particular, and his reputation as an officer is beyond question. His promotion serves as an example to us all.

Promotion to General for Squadron Commanders is limited to CMDRs of offically designated Elite Squadrons only. General Kaerner is only the second officer to ever hold this prestigious rank, the first being the Commander of Omega Squadron - General Devin.

On the Links section, I've added the StarCraft to Star Wars Total Conversion project. They need people to do sounds (or import them from the movies), voices, make graphics, write campaigns, design maps, etc.

If you like StarCraft and want to give these guys a hand, head on over to their homepage (http://www.jedinights.com/scswtc/) for details. If/when the project is completed, we could be seeing this as a new game platform for the Emperor's Hammer to use!

Note: This project is not affiliated in any way with the Emperor's Hammer.

Battlegroups Flagship Contest Concluded

VA Kessler

07 November, 1999 16:41
7 ABY
It is with great pleasure and a certain amount of relief that I can finally declare the Battlegroup Flagship Contest over. Over a period of two months the ISDs Colossus, Relentless, Challenge and Immortal have fought it out over the skills of piloting, mission design, fiction writing and graphics creation. Over 1000 submissions were received, including 193 new missions for TIE, XVT and XWA, the best of which are now in the hands of the Tactical Office. The results are as follows:

1st: ISD Challenge
2nd: ISD Relentless
3rd: ISD Immortal
4th: ISD Colossus

The direct result of this, is that my Flagship is now the ISD Challenge. I leave the ISD Colossus today to take my new post on the Command Ship of Wing X. Thank you to all onboard the ISD Colossus for making me so welcome during my time on board.

Finally, by approval of the Fleet Commander, the top scoring Squadron in the contest is officially declared Battlegroup Commander's Escort Squadron. My congratulations to Typhoon Squadron/Wing X/ISD Challenge on earning this honor. Until the second Battlegroup Flagship Contest, my congratulations to all who took part.

Campaign/CAB standard altered

HA Kawolski

02 November, 1999 11:24
7 ABY
From now on, people designing battles that span over more than two battles do not have their battle declared as a CAB. However, if you submit a campaign of this sort, you MUST submit ALL of the battles that go with it at one time.

For example, you cannot just complete Part 1 of a battle campaign one month, do Part 2 the next month, and then finish with Part 3 four months later. You must submit all three parts at once.

This gives an advantage to campaign-style battles (i.e. those currently on the EH Battle Center with "Part 1" and "Part 2" on them) because you can earn more battle medals playing them and sections can be used in competitions where it's easier to play a six-mission chunk as opposed to a twenty-mission CAB.

Combined Arms Battles are merely TIE Fighter based battles that involve TC-subgroup hybrid plotlines that don't have the maximum size restriction of eight missions normal TC-TIE battles have.
