Dempsey stood on the bridge of the might Star Destroyer Hammer. In the distance hovered the wedge shape of another Star
Destroyer, the Warrior. "Are you telling me those incompetent fools still have not located their Commodore?" she asked. The
man beside her nodded. Dempsey smiled.
Yes, people, High Admiral Frodo is still missing. So what's going on - has he been abducted, did he fall
asleep in a garbage chute, or has he simply gone AWOL. Only time will tell!
In the mean time, things aboard the Hammer are running as they should and fully up to Imperial specs. Competition participation
is up again, which is good and bad. Good because - more people! Bad because - I'm not getting as many first places anymore.
All Hammer MSEs were in and have been processed, which I guess means GN Polo is back in the saddle as well. Welcome back, sir! I have
recommended the medals for Delta (well, singular actually), and that one was awarded earlier today.
This is also the moment to congratulate MAJ Clark. With his last trivia answer this week, he broke the
FIFTEEN HUNDRED points barrier. Well done!
As the last week of the month commences, I'd like to point out to whoever reads this that there are a few competitions running their last
week. The GOG Games, which has you fly TIE Fighter Battle 1, has 1 week left,
and so far I have two entries (one being my own). So if you wanna get in on that one, be my guest. If one more pilot sends a pilotfile, at
least we can award all three medals!
A similar fate is faced by Dempsey's Mobile Gaming Mania, which also has only a few days left. This one also
has two entries (again one being my own), so there's still a medal that no one has claimed! Come on folks!
Fortunately, another of my competitions seems to fare better, as last week's riddle was won by a Warrior pilot: COL
La'an. So that means at this moment we have three winners. No one's getting any closer to the first IS-SR! I would like to point out
though that all submissions should be sent via reply to the mailing list. Submissions that don't go through the mailing list won't be
counted anymore!
Squadron wise, we lost LT Benjo this week. After far too many months without any activity, he has been declared
AWOL. Unfortunately, this is the 4th month in a row where I've had to request an AWOL on a pilot. Not something that makes me a happy camper,
but alas, it cannot be avoided.
As of last week, Galactic Starfighter is now supported by the database. The platform had been approved as a
TIE Corps game a while back, but it has now been implemented in the site, so start submitting your screenshots for them Legions of Combat!
Lastly for this week - I hope everyone noticed the massive number of games released by gog.com. So far, that
means all the flight sims, and a load of other games. See the TC news
page for a full listing!
Nothing more to say for this week. One more week to crank in some activity and earn yourself a shinie in the next MSE!
In the headlines this week
HA Frodo is missing
December MSE processed
Galactic Starfighter implemented into database
loads of games released on GOG
Riddle of the week
My first year here I had a weekly joke. Last year, a weekly funny image. This year, a riddle. First pilot to send me the correct answer wins. Pilots are encouraged to
send their answers to the entire mailing list, and so sending a reply is only useful if your answer hasn't been sent in yet! Each victory earns you an IS-BR. Unless it's a 5th
victory, you then get a IS-SR. Unless it's a 10th victory, which gives you an IS-GR. A 25th victory will give you an IS-PR!
Please note that you should reply to the mailing list when submitting your answer!
This week's riddle: I have on my desk 9 bags filled with 15 IS-SWs each. However, I have reason to believe that someone switched one of these bags with a bags filled with fakes. The fakes are exactly the same as the real ones, with only one difference: a real IS-SW weighs 15 grams, a fake one weighs 14 grams.
Question: using only my kitchen scale, what is the minimum amount of times I have to weigh something to find out which bag holds the fakes. Explain your answer!
Last week's winner: COL Jarek La'an
Current standings: VA Woody, COL La'an, CPT Fenn: 1
