SQUADRON NEWS
Welcome to this week’s Squadron Report! Winter festivities are on, so not surprisingly, activity was low throughout the Fleet – however, MSS TAC’s and VA Woody’s personal craft needed engine replacement by hangar droids due to overwhelming usage.

Thus, this week, the report will feature a section on wrapping up the year nearly behind.

A quick update first. Our flying competition, Kappa Race to 25 is running, and will be on until the end of January. I challenge the squad to collect 25 FCHG and LoC points as fast as you can, with the exception of calculating additional FCHG points for LoCs. Winner takes an IS-SW, all pilots who reach 10 points earn an IS-BW each.

COMMANDER’S ROOM
The Black Panther was operational and saw combat this week.
The Encyclopaedia Imperia has been extended with the Raise The Flag 2014 article. Every editing member who wants to mention and link to our great fleet-wide competition this year can now do it so. Kudos to General Pickled Yoda for creating the original descriptions.
I will try to gather enough intelligence to conclude my predecessors’ competitions for our squad. My goal is to finish these before mid-January.

OUR YEAR IN REVIEW
The year began with the Squadron commissioned as Gamma Squadron, onboard the then-only commissioned ISD, ISDII Hammer. Squadron Commander was then-LC Elwood the Brave (Woody), Flight Leaders were LCM Tyrian (FL2) and LC Impulse (FL3). Flight Members were Godo Nurok (1-2), Starkillerny (1-3), Rana Grande (1-4), Mark Schueler (2-2), Dante (2-4), Zósite Kónstyte Styles (3-2), Viper Pred (3-4).

Zósite soon took his great leap: a promotion to Strategic Operations Officer! Tuba and myself joined the squadron in the upcoming days, and the Fleet saw steady increase in its numbers in other squadrons, too. Thus, Lambda squadron was commissioned, and COL Mark Schueler transferred there. Tyrian stepped down from his FL duties and Starkillerny was promoted to FL2. The squadron showed excellent MP activity around this time, with Tuba, Star, and Impulse leading the way. We were also happy to welcome CPT Plif back from the Reserves.

Words were spreading that the influx of pilots will result in commissioning a new capital ship! After few weeks of preparations, the ISDII Warrior was commissioned to be home for Wing II, comprising four squadrons! And it was this time, when our Squadron was transferred onto the Warrior to become Kappa Squadron. Woody took another step in his career and became Commodore of the ISDII Hammer. ISDII Warrior welcomed HA Frodo March as Commodore, together with a very unique Wing Commander in COL Frown. Starkillerny took over commanding, Plif was promoted to FL2, and Tuba left for the Reserves. However, his place was quickly taken by SL Rhace, transferring from the Daedalus. Rhace quickly made his mark, giving us many graphic designs that we use since. We also welcomed Zephon and Andural, who excelled in the Star Conflict platform. Also, one of the ace pilots of TIE craft ever, Tempest, joined the squadron in Spring, together with Bryan and SBK. Tyrian, Godo Nurok and Rana Grande were transferred to the Reserves. Plif left to command Sin Squadron, and I took his place as FL2.

The commissioning of the new ship let the Command Staff be able to hold the traditional fleet-wide competition again. This was Raise The Flag 2014, in which Single Player, Multiplayer, Graphics and Fiction activities were scoring for your squadron and your ship. The Fleet saw a one-month spur in all activities, with great individual efforts and many high scores within the battle compendium. Our Squadron has shown good all-around performance, with most pilots participating, and finishing 5th place, in the middle of the pack. ISDII Warrior took home Flagship honors, with Theta Squadron winning the squadrons’ race.

The year was pretty quiet after RtF. Starkillerny stepped down as CMDR, and we were kinda hibernated with low activity until early Autumn, when Drake Starfire was appointed to be CMDR. Hawkins joined us from the Reserves, and Sparky came straight from the Daedalus to complete our current roster. However, Drake’s tenure didn’t last long, and he stepped down early November. I followed him as CMDR in December. While the second half of the year was quiet flight-wise, presence on the chatter was continuous. I hope that at least most of you enjoyed the year as much as I did. The atmosphere of the TIE Corps is really unique.
