TIE Corps Command Report
Weekly Report #61 – Submission date: May 11th 2014
Introduction

Greetings,

Once again, we’ve had a very exciting week for the TIE Corps. We’ve even had, at one point, all 3 squadrons of the ISD Hammer complete. The new arrivals all came recruited by LCM Landon Cruise, who received no less than 5 Medals of Instruction, considering the one for the recruiting of SL Doc last week. The new arrivals were SL DeMiko, LT Jeffery Donger, LT Rostam and LT Warrior Ferret. Note that the last 3 already earned their promotions to full Lieutenant. SL DeMiko, LT Rostam and LT Ferret were all assigned to Beta Squadron, while LT Donger joined Epsilon. Welcome to you all, we hope you have a blast in the TIE Corps!

With this growth rate, it is very likely that we’ll need to open Alpha and Sin Squadrons before Raise the Flag. The creation of the squadrons will not be allowed during the competition, not to jeopardize any squadron’s performance in the comp.

Besides the mentioned promotions of Lieutenants Donger, Rostam and Ferret, we also saw this week the promotion to the rank of Lieutenant of former Sub-lieutenants Doc, Benjo and Zephon! Congratulations to you all!

The rules of Raise the Flag 2014 have already been decided upon, with the consent of the TAC, SOO, COO, Hammer COM and Warrior COM. We are all satisfied that we can have a fair and tough competition to everyone. Raise the Flag will run from June 1st to June 30th!

It must be mentioned the smoothness of the whole evaluation process for the month of April. All the Monthly Squadron Evaluations were submitted in due time, as were the Monthly Ship Evaluations, which were already assessed by the SOO, who didn’t only have time to give feedback on the evaluation for the Warrior before he went on leave. But it doesn’t erase the efficiency of the whole process.

As for the merit medals awarded for the Hammer evaluation, we’ve had some pretty high level awards for 3 notorious members: the Silver Star of the Empire was awarded to MAJ Kyle Kroan, COL Anahorn Dempsey and LCM Landon Cruise. Also, the Imperial Security Medal was awarded to LC Gyssler, LCM Julon Lommax and LT Simomime. Congratulations on a job well done!

Speaking of medals, I’d like to mention that there was a slight change in the policy regarding the award of service medals, more specifically the Iron Stars. The basic rule for competition medals is that the competition organizer can only offer the medals he has the authority to award in his competitions (CMDR = Bronze and Silver, for at least month long comps, COM = Gold, TCCOM = Platinum), but I’ve decided to let Commodores give their support for long-term squadron competitions, thus allowing them the award of the Gold Ribbon/Wings. But those can’t be offered without the COM’s consent, and can’t be offered for less than one year of competition time, so they are still pretty hard to get, as they should. It’s important to note that, no matter what, the Platinum Wings/Ribbons can only be awarded for high level fleet wide competitions.

The sad news of the week was the removal of COL Doyon and LT Dillion Martin from the Beta Squadron roster. They have been declared absent without leave. I hope they can find their way back to the fleet in the very near future.

Competition ID#: 2534
Competition status: approved
Submitted by: SOO-TCS/RA Zósite Kónstyte Styles/TC-2/ISDII Hammer
Competition runtime: 04/01/2014 - 05/15/2014 (4 days left)
Units involved: Entire TC
Competition medals: IS-GR, IS-SR, IS-BR
And... the possibility of all an IS-PR! Depending on the overall quality of submissions and that of the winner one compared to the rest of them.
Description: So the TIE Corps website doesn't seem to have the classic 'About us...' section up there for people to realize what we really are and what's this pseudo-military madness all about. And I've heard some officers from our current membership complaining that such situation could be driving potential new recruits back in panic thinking we're gonna eat their democratic souls or something, then forcing them to play games meant to be played only by lifeless beings who lost their twenties long ago. And hell... I think they're damn right.

Therefore, and in order for such an important issue on our recruiting efforts to be addressed ASAP, your most dreaded SOO has decided to set up an official competition for you to be able to contribute with what may perfectly be the best thing you'll ever do for the Fleet as a whole out of your own performance as pilots and commanding officers.

ALL current members of the TIE Corps are hereby called to participate by submitting their own versions of an eventual 'About us' section, which will become the main page to be accessed instead the news one. All submissions must use HTML standard code and are expected to include pics, logos, links, EH/TC history, game platforms we use, maybe a few lines on usual Fleet procedures... Everything you may consider important enough to the point of motivating slightly interested people into becoming our new cadets (without boring them to suicidal levels). Please include the HTML file itself and all pics using the intended resolution on a ZIP file, then send it by e-mail to ALL members of the TIE Corps Admiralty (TCCOM, SOO and COO). And try for all your content to fit on a 750px wide table (including margins). Apart from that you should try to follow current TC site layout as much as possible, and know that your submission may be modified as necessary by site admin. (that would be the aforementioned dreaded SOO) for it to better fit current content.

Nothing else to say except that we're obviously expecting top-quality submissions as befitting our great Fleet, as much as to be judged as worthy contenders for no less than a Platinum Ribbon! Please try to understand this task is of utmost important for us all, hence the quality we're asking for and our confidence in your skills to fulfill our requirements.

The numbers on the MP Kill Board at the end of the month are the numbers that are tallied. If there are three participants then IS-GW/SW/BW, if only two IS-SW/BW, etc. At the end of the year the top 3 pilots with the most points will receive IS-PW/GW/SW/BW. Conclusion

With Raise the Flag on the horizon, and the growth rate of the TC as it is, we look upon very exciting times for the TIE Corps. My only concern is that the roster has the best setup possible for the competition, so we don’t need to worry with the possibility of any major changes during the comp itself.

Have a nice week!

Respectfully submitted,
