Theta Report # 4 (2014-04-29)

This report was submitted by CMDR/COL Jarek La'an/Theta/Wing II/ISDII Warrior

Theta Squadron WSR #4
292145ZAPR14

Not a great example being set by Theta CMDR of late, my apologies for yet another largely unannounced LoA - unfortunately my job leads to long periods of fairly sudden absence from my home setup... Suffice to say that after driving around 1200 miles in the last 3 days and suffering through various inordinately long briefings I am keen to ensure that this isn't a long report! So please bear with me and I'll endeavour to make sure these absences are kept to a minimum, or at least planned for in advance. Overall a slow week with some exceptions, but a steady flow of activity continues and I'm keen to see this grow in anticipation of Raise the Flag, already in its planning stages as we speak. To counter the other squads we need to plan, discuss, and anticipate

Operating Thetan has concluded its first 4 week rotation, with all medals recc'd and ready for approval - well done to GN Yoda for his clean sweep in week 3, he's managed it again with 55 missions flown to take this last week's SP title, as well as the IS-SW for heading up the rotation with an impressive 91 missions flown. CPT Flelm's 23 LoCs have secured him the weeks MP title, with his total of 71 LoCs over the 4 weeks securing his own IS-SW. In light of 7 of the squad having participated I've elected to award the runner-up for SP and MP over the 4 week rotation with an IS-BW - barring any complaint from the SOO this means COL Schueler and GN Pelleaon respectively (...and Gilad by a mere LoC at that!).

MSE medals were already awarded so I won't go over them again, but this last months MSE will be generated in the next 48 hours, so the narrowest of windows remains to add any last minute BSFs or LoCs. This includes the Theta Run-On as well as the squad mailing list, forum, and even uniforms. In addition check out the COMs current competitions and you can't go far wrong.

I've decided to cut the Rogues Gallery out as the balance between making it difficult enough to get past TinEye has somewhat removed the joy from it, however this may well return in the future, so stay tuned.

Prima Inter Pares

GN Yoda cements his frequent position once again as the paragon of Thetan virtue, so a week including a Silver Star and 55 SP missions should hardly be a surprise. Nonetheless its an outstanding week of activity that I would challenge anyone in the TC to beat.

Operational Picture

...Alright, listen up, people. Our missing officer has been on the run for ninety minutes. Average foot speed over uneven ground barring injuries or intoxication is 4 miles-per-hour. That gives us a radius of six miles. What I want from each and every one of you is a hard-target search of every cocktail bar, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse and gutter in that area. Checkpoints go up at fifteen miles. Your fugitive’s name is COL Jarek La'an and he's likely hostile. Go get him…

CMDR's Corner

I'm hoping to increase my own consistency and activity, I can hardly expect something from you all that I can't accomplish myself. That being said there's room for improvement as a squad so we need to face the challenge head on if we stand a chance of smashing the Hammer from the sky.

Yours aye,
