Commodore's Thoughts

Pilots,

It has been a very busy week, with the moving over to the new ship and all. I've already assigned a few crews to fix the smell. Maintenance has successfully identified it as a mix of "New car and mothball, with just a hint of lemon gin", which I suspect is mostly Mell's fault.

First and foremost, congrats to CM Starkillerny who was promoted and put in charge of Kappa. He has hit the ground running so to speak with lots of competitions, activity, and the recruitment of SL, now LT, Rhace! Solid first few days Commander! Keep it up. Now that we're full up on CMDRs, you three can expect further direction via e-mail this week.

It took three years to implement the repercussions, but it turns out that there is actually a rule in the AoW and CoCs that says that in order to be assigned to a certain ship, you have to be able to spell it's name. Warrior is much easier to spell for me than Phoenix ever was, so here I am, likely for a long time.

We are in an enviable position gentlemen. We have pilots that were from Wing II back in the glory days when it belonged to the Sovereign, therefore we can build on a well established tradition... Which anybody who has been on the Hammer can vouch, is difficult to start from scratch. However, we also are the first brave pilots to man the mighty ISD Warrior, which allows us to start some traditions of our own. Therefore I have started a competition for a nickname and motto for the ISD Warrior. Details below.

I am also accepting banner submissions. The chosen banner's creator will be appropriately rewarded. I have already received two submissions. More would be appreciated!

Another thing I will accept, are applications for Sin Squadron command. Now, it may take a while (read ASAP) before the selected pilot will be in position and our fourth squad is good to go, but I want someone ready, willing, and able to work with me right away to get that place up and running. Command experience in this case would probably be ideal, but don't be dissuaded if you have none. Hammer personnel need not apply...

I chose Sin because the word play possibilities are just endless. Should be a good time.

From the Bridge of the Warrior

During a target practice drill, Minos Cluster, ISD Warrior's bridge:

Duty Bridge Officer: What do you mean it won't fire?
Gunner: Sir, I keep trying, but it won't fire!
Duty Bridge Officer: Jedi feces... This thing's a battleship...A BRAND NEW ONE... Why the hell won't it shoot!
Operations Officer: Sir! We're taking heavy fire from the practice drones! Shields are at 50%.
Duty Bridge Officer: Blast...I'm going to have to get the Commodore.... Wait... What version is this ISD??
Operations Officer: It's the 95 version, sir.
Duty Bridge Officer: Awww hell... PULL BACK. GET OUT.
Gunner: What's wrong sir?
Duty Bridge Officer: We need the patch, or this thing's basically one big, slow, useless Dorito.
Operations Officer: How can you upgrade the entire ISD, but forget to load it with guns!?
Duty Bridge Officer: Beats me... But look at those 4 extra flight groups! Pretty!


Conclusion

I am quite impressed with the amount of activity I've seen so far. Lot's of LoCs and lots of comps! Keep it up.

The google groups activity has also been legit! I'm glad to see it. If anybody is not on it yet, give me or La'an a shout.
