TIE Corps Command Report
Weekly Report #55 – Submission date: March 31st 2014
Introduction

Greetings, pilots! The so much anticipated time has come!

It is with great pleasure that I now announce the commissioning of the Imperial-Class Star Destroyer Warrior, and the transfer of Wing II to compose its fighter wing! This move will allow the TIE Corps to restore some of its best features, making possible to have ship vs. ship competitions, and also to allow more dedicated commanding policies.

In that light, I also announce the opening, in both these ships, of the Commodore position. The COM is the leader of not only the ship, but of its entire battle group. Many will wonder why we didn’t go for the Wing Commander position, which doesn’t lead the battle group, but just the Wing, and the reason is simple. Practically, they would have the same job description, the only difference being the rank they carry. Since we have only 3 possible admiral positions in the TC today, and because non-elite Squadron Commanders can achieve the General rank these days, we decided to give 2 more members the opportunity to become admirals. The maximum attainable rank for the COMs will be upgraded to AD, instead of VA. However, previously achieved higher ranks will be kept, just as Flight Members keep the General rank nowadays.

So, without further delay, I would like to announce the promotion of Rear Admiral Elwood the Brave to the position of ISD Hammer Commodore. Congratulations, RA Woody, considering your performance as a CMDR in Gamma, the Hammer is lucky to have you, and so is the admiralty!

As for the newly commissioned ship, it will be led by no other than High Admiral Frodo March, who then leaves the M/FRG Phoenix to become ISD Warrior COM. I don’t need to tell any of you the qualities of this officer. I could not leave a new ship in better hands. Congratulations, Frothy, and welcome back to active duty! Finally!

Now, on to the Wings’ formations. ISD Hammer’s Wing I will maintain, at first, Beta, Delta and Epsilon Squadrons. Alpha, Gamma and Lambda Squadrons will be temporarily closed, with their members transferred to Wing II Squadrons. Alpha Squadron members were transferred to Sigma Squadron, while Gamma members now populate Kappa Squadron, and Lambda members transferred to Theta Squadron.

I realize that these changes might not be the best option for everyone, but it is by far the best possible solution we could implement, considering balancing the strength of both wings. It is our intention to work towards opening a 4th squadron in both Wings, and hopefully more, whenever possible.

The promotion of Woody to Hammer COM has left the position of Gamma Squadron Commander open. Obviously, that position will be filled in Kappa Squadron, which CMDR will be sorted by the COM of the ISD Warrior.

Congratulations is also in order to newly promoted LCM Julon Lommax! Well done, Lieutenant Commander!

And for more great news this week, welcome back to CPT Flelm, who joined Lambda Squadron, and was later transferred to Theta, along with the rest of Lambda.

RA Zósite has returned to regular service, and launched a new TC wide competition. Please check it in the Competitions Center!

MAJ Tuba has decided to leave for the Reserves, and was transferred to the M/FRG Phoenix. Hope he will return soon.

Competition ID#: 2534
Competition status: approved
Submitted by: SOO-TCS/RA Zósite Kónstyte Styles/TC-2/ISDII Hammer
Competition runtime: 04/01/2014 - 05/15/2014 (1 month, 15 days left)
Units involved: Entire TC
Competition medals: IS-GR, IS-SR, IS-BR
And... the possibility of all an IS-PR! Depending on the overall quality of submissions and that of the winner one compared to the rest of them.
Description: So the TIE Corps website doesn't seem to have the classic 'About us...' section up there for people to realize what we really are and what's this pseudo-military madness all about. And I've heard some officers from our current membership complaining that such situation could be driving potential new recruits back in panic thinking we're gonna eat their democratic souls or something, then forcing them to play games meant to be played only by lifeless beings who lost their twenties long ago. And hell... I think they're damn right.

Therefore, and in order for such an important issue on our recruiting efforts to be addressed ASAP, your most dreaded SOO has decided to set up an official competition for you to be able to contribute with what may perfectly be the best thing you'll ever do for the Fleet as a whole out of your own performance as pilots and commanding officers.

ALL current members of the TIE Corps are hereby called to participate by submitting their own versions of an eventual 'About us' section, which will become the main page to be accessed instead the news one. All submissions must use HTML standard code and are expected to include pics, logos, links, EH/TC history, game platforms we use, maybe a few lines on usual Fleet procedures... Everything you may consider important enough to the point of motivating slightly interested people into becoming our new cadets (without boring them to suicidal levels). Please include the HTML file itself and all pics using the intended resolution on a ZIP file, then send it by e-mail to ALL members of the TIE Corps Admiralty (TCCOM, SOO and COO). And try for all your content to fit on a 750px wide table (including margins). Apart from that you should try to follow current TC site layout as much as possible, and know that your submission may be modified as necessary by site admin. (that would be the aforementioned dreaded SOO) for it to better fit current content.

Nothing else to say except that we're obviously expecting top-quality submissions as befitting our great Fleet, as much as to be judged as worthy contenders for no less than a Platinum Ribbon! Please try to understand this task is of utmost important for us all, hence the quality we're asking for and our confidence in your skills to fulfill our requirements.

Quotes of the Week

1 – COL Mell Kerrigan: “Game on, Wing I.”

That’s the spirit!

2 – HA Frodo March: ”for some strange reason... Google Groups did not let me make La'an a regular member. He was defaulted to manager and there's no other options.

Strange.”

So strange…*cof*COMMforlife*cof*

Conclusion

This is the dawn of a new age to the TIE Corps. Hopefully, both ships will endure for a very long time, and hopefully being reinforced with other squadrons.

Once again, I’d like to congratulate the new Commodores on their positions. I’m certain both ships could not be in better hands.

Congratulations to all members who made this possible. You are all invited to the ISD Challenge Cantina…since it’s now neutral territory ;)

Have a great week! Most of all, I hope you have a great time with the TIE Corps, and enjoy the new fleet structure!

Respectfully submitted,
