Happy new Year, 30 ABY or as is known in a Galaxy far far away, happy 2022!

Several new competitions are sprouting, be sure to check the Competition Centre for more info! Keep an eye on discord also for announcements in the Competitions Channel.

30 ABY brings with it some very exciting things, including Xwing Alliance Upgrade (XWAU) and TIE Fighter Total Conversion (TFTC). If you are unsure what those two gems are, XWAU is a modified version of Xwing Alliance, with new graphics, VR support and soon(tm) new battles. In addition, TFTC is a mod, on top of XWAU, with its own set of battles. Both are currently being pushed forward by EH as viable games. For PvP you can already submit LoCs (courtesy of Miles, Silwar, and of course Turtle for making it happen). While for single player, the TAC along with the new EH website devs (aka Turtle and co) are preparing a way to fly TFTC (and XWAU) for single player credit. One of our own, SL Ilios, has been working on a long set of battles which utilize XWAU's engine. It is called Embers of the Empire. You can reach out to him for a full download (9 GB), which extracts into a whopping 27 GB (as it contains the full XWAU game). I promised to him that once he makes it to Lieutenant Commander Ilios that I too, would fly his battles! If you are interested in flying it or to just help him by testing it, be sure to contact him on discord.

Silwar's and Genie's Chalquilla Cup 2 is on its way! Start thinking about your squadron teams. In addition, there is an SPL one-day tournament next Saturday, if you are interested, see our discord SPL channel. I am stepping down from SPL, but I've started a chain in case people are interested. In addition, Howler is looking for pilots to join him for Cadet Cup 5, which will be held on the first Saturday of February. Contact Howler if you are interested.

Fun fact of the Week: You can play TIE Fighter with just your mouse and keyboard. No joystick required.

A regular day aboard the Hammer

Wake(???) up at 06:00, puts my uniform on. Make my way towards the Lambda Quarters to check on the squad. Find Solohan (Ewok) munching through a zucchini sandwich. Grab the sandwich and toss it on Dillshize's (Devalorian) face, as he sits at the corner of the room with 3 beers on his foldable mini table. Solohan takes a look at me and kicks me on the leg.

Limping my way forward, I shout to everyone as I pull their bed covers, 'Get up guys, time for our regular fleet-ferrying Lambda taxi service'

Maveric stretches while still under the covers, his sunglasses firmly on his head (I wonder what kind of dreams he is having).

I turn to look for Xye, still, only to see a hairy set of cheeks in his place. Wookiee turns around and throws me a smile, while tagged beneath his pillow is the 2022 edition of Conspiracy-R-Us magazine, the special, golden monthly edition. Its main title reads 'Palpatine still lives! The Emperor is alive!'

Calvin is back from the reserves and he's already up, getting dressed. Meanwhile Howler is staring at the starlight outside the window.

Aisling is punching his radio, as it refuses to play. Merlin and the Redbaron just walk into the quarters, returning from a scheduled patrol. Merlin still wearing his helmet.

Konig is already up and documenting everything through his portable headcam, streaming it live on youshoot.com.

Last but not least, the Beets Master, Corran Shub turns on his pickup player and stats to DJ his way to a ... Gooooooood Moooooooooooorning Lambda!

Genie makes his way out of the quarters, still limping from Solohan's kick and is seen carrying a heavy, thicc book with him. Nobody's sure what's in that book.

• Alejandro's Youtube Corner: A place where LC Alejandro regularly uploads videos of his activities with the modded XWA.
• LCM Legion's Streaming: Regular weekly streaming. I joined in a couple of times, highly entertaining!
