TCCOM REPORT #39

REPORTING OFFICER: High Admiral Plif, TIE Corps Commander
DATE SUBMITTED: 28 Nov 21
ACTIVE DUTY ROSTER COUNT: 156 (-4) Including 3 NPCs

NEWS

There's been a lot going on this past month with Raise the Flag ending, feedback from that, feedback from the evaluation process after RtF, and a lot of other housekeeping items that all seemed to bubble up all at once. Reports got away from me for a while there, but I'll get back into a routine.

The roster is down 4 since last time, which happens to be the number of pilots that went to the Reserves surrounding the closing of Sigma Squadron. Having those pilots leave active duty isn't what we'd intended to have happen, but not everything always goes to plan. There were also a few other gains and losses that evened out.

We've made a change to how the Medal of Communication (MoC) gets processed each month. Rather than having the SOO recommend them for the entire active duty roster, the Commodores now initiate the recommendations for the pilots on their ships. As the Corps has grown, some of these Corps-wide processes have become unwieldy so we're delegating these tasks where possible.

With the ISDII Challenge having won Raise the Flag 2021, the SOO and I have transferred over to the new flagship. That only really changes our ID lines, but sometimes our location gets mentioned in fiction pieces.

Speaking of fiction pieces, I've got a plan for Volume 7 of the TIE Corps Newsletter. What I'd like each pilot to do is send me up to three of their graphic or fiction pieces for publication. These can be pieces that were submitted for a competition, they just can't be pieces that have appeared in a newsletter before. Fiction pieces longer than about 1200 words should be submitted to the WARDs as well so that I can put the beginning in the newsletter and then link to the rest in the database. What I'll be attempting to put together is a PDF document this time instead of an HTML site that uses frames, PDFs are a lot more flexible when it comes to different device types. Each submission that gets published in the newsletter will earn its creator a Letter of Achievement (LoA).

TITLE HOLDERS

The Raise the Flag event each year confers three titles to recognize the top ship, squadron, and individual pilot from the competition. These are the current holders of those titles.

TIE Corps Flagship: ISDII Challenge

TCCOM's Escort Squadron: Tempest

TCCOM's Wingman: COL Phalk Sturm
