TIE Corps Eagle Squadron WSR

EAGLE SQUADRON SUPPLEMENTAL(14-Nov-29 ABY)

REPORTING COMMANDER: Captain Graf D'Jinn, Squadron Commander TO: Eagle Squadron, Vice Admiral Silwar Naiilo, ISD Challenge DATE SUBMITTED: 14 November 29 ABY

RtF EDITION

The sound of boots against polished and shining steel was not a new sensation to any sentient or droid aboard the Challenge. Neither then, was the occasional cautious and careful clink of a glass bottle moved methodically off the side by such a contact.

'You ever think of maybe convincing high command to acquire some T-70s for us?'

The sudden break in the otherwise silent side by side stride took Captain Graf by some surprise. 'No, I don't think I've ever thought of it, fancier rebel buckets yeah?'

'Only the coolest rebel buckets around! 4 Freitek 5L5 fusial thrust engines providing up to 110 megalight of acceleration, 5 cannons, 8 warheads, and the hardiest shields short of a freighter!'

The continued excitement of his wingman continued to fascinate the Eagle Commander as they strolled ever on and through their own barracks.

'How do you know all of this info? And should I be concerned you seem to be excited about this?'

A sheepish smile and an immediate, perhaps all-too-fast withdrawl into himself followed the remark, Xylo sheltering away a tad as if a self-deferential instinct had kicked in.

'Noooo, I just think it'd be cool, and the Republ ... I mean Rebels, may not even be using T-65s at all for much longer ... also I ... they're such pretty ships I can't help it, sucker me as false an Imperial as I am a Rebel.'

A soft smile, 'It's not a terrible idea, I know after Tusorix, with the ships we have it wouldn't hurt for a little bit of that sharper look. Plus, I think it would do us some good to finally get back up to TIE speed standards.'

'Ever the endeavour carrier Commander, I wouldn't have it any other way.'

'And neither would I for you, or for any of us ...'

Both pilots stopped before a small sealed door at the silver end of the Eagle squadron dorms and simultaneously reached for their keycards, Xylo yielding almost immediately. And as the door split open with the expected cleanliness of system and succinctness of the Challenge, the small table, littered with the personalities of all that made up this part of her body, coming into view, the statement closed with the substance that had made their enemies rise, and that let them persevere now.

'...Birds of a feather, prey together.'

COMPETITIONS AND EVENTS

Current Eagle Squadron Competitions:

Challenge Competitions:

  • Challenge's Poetic Proficiency : Every round, a general prompt will be given about something on the Challenge, her pilots, her crew, her history, or sometimes more Star Wars in general along with a poem type. You then write your heart and soul, or liver and Chalquilla, into a poem of the given type which will then be reviewed by your fellow competitors and a winner elected by vote.

TIE Corps Competitions:

  • Trivia Grand Tour: Season Forty Seven: Entering Week 3.1419
  • Crossword Puzzle, be sure to email a screenshot of your answers to Solohan (solohan50@gmail.com).
  • Starship Designers: This competition is about designing your very own starship. Can be as detailed as you wish to be. Design must include exterior design (blueprint style or actual artwork) and interior design of any rooms of your choice. The design can be of any kind of ship, fighter, cruiser, etc.

Be sure to check out all the running competitions. As Eagles, to know the competitions you are eligible for, under 'Units Involved' it must be listed as 'Entire TC', 'ISD-II Challenge', 'Wing I' or 'Eagle Squadron'.

CLOSING COMMENTS

Eagle set ourselves a solid goal from the outset of the competition, and that was to finish in the top 8 of the TC. Eagle danced with Delta, and then Rho, squadrons over the last week, swapping places back and forth, before finally cementing the eighth spot and trailing Delta by a little under 300points. But that, as they say, is that, and our goal was realised through the actions of virtually the entire squadron, consistently applied across the month.

Big shout-out to the pilots of Delta, as this late competition-in-a-competition really made things interesting (for us, at the very least!).

The final scores remain immortalised on Gn Pickled Yoda's webpage, but a quick breakdown shows just how evenly the pilots of Eagle managed to spread that load. And it wasn't just in the flying categories either, with our contributions dovetailing into all of the point-scoring categories. Go and read some of XP's fiction (which, incidentally, he has written for the opening introduction above); check out Drummer's GFX; have a flight against the terrible twins in Jospence and SirCaleb (watch out for that switcheroo). What ever the action was, the pilots of Eagle can hold their heads up high knowing that their contribution to the Challenge's Flagship glory is part of bigger and greater destinies.

As hinted at above, this is the supplemental version, and seeks to celebrate and highlight the phenomenal work of the pilots of Eagle. We will return you to your regularly scheduled progamming in due course.

I remain, as always, your humble servant,

GDJ
