Weekly Report #7 – Submission date: April 7th 2013

Introduction

Welcome to another TCCOM report,

The Karana Initiative Phases 1a and 1b have reached their submission deadline. As you’re reading this, I’m discussing with La’an about the results of Phase 1a, and with La’an and Dempsey regarding Phase 1b. As soon as we are able, we will release the results. To those who participated: well done!

Whenever possible, we will proceed to Phase 2, which will consist of a flying competition with the battle created for Phase 1b, and following the story of the winner of Phase 1a. That might require some modifications, but we’ll discuss it and let you know what turns out.

I am very pleased with the activity that has been created by the advent of Star Conflict. We have received god knows how many mission screenshots this week. Keep up the great work, pilots! You’ll receive your deserved Legions of Combat as soon as our new database is online and operational!

Speaking of Star Conflict, COL Viper Pred has released in the mailing list their plans for the future, and it’s quite interesting. The TIE Corps should look closely to the development of this game. TC activity here has been so good that people are considering hosting our own events, which I would highly support.

The only processed MSE so far has been Delta’s, and we were very pleased with the results. CMDR Anahorn Dempsey has been awarded the great Silver Star of the Empire for her efforts! LCM Kyle Kroan was awarded no less than the Bronze Star of the Empire, CM John T. Clark was awarded the Palpatine Crescent and LCM Shado Fenn was awarded the Imperial Security Medal! Congratulations on an amazing month, Delta! We expect other MSEs immediately.

And once again I celebrate the great academic activity we’ve had. No less than 7 courses were passed this week alone. The TO can correct me here, but an average of 1 course per day is something I haven’t seen in a while.

Tactical Officer’s Fun With Flags competition has ended and a load of medals were awarded. Mostly, congratulations to FA La’an for achieving first place and to CM John T. Clark for second place. I managed to come in third, so yey me!

LC Dempsey has achieved victory in March’s edition of Ace of the TIE Corps, and earned herself an IS-GW. Congratulations, Dempsey! Also congrats to MAJ Elwood the Brave and LCM Kyle Kroan, who came in second and third, respectively. Well done!

A mailing limit in our current host is preventing all chain of command to receive a pilot’s BSF confirmation, and is probably the cause for the issue with IWATS/IU. Please check to see if the entire Chain of Command was sent your mails and forward them to the respective personnel!

And yet another major flaw has been discovered in the current database, as it does not display a pilot’s battles flown properly. Several have been reported missing. That will be fixed when the new database goes online. Always keep your pilot files, they might come in handy someday! If you find that your list is missing some battle, inform the TAC and send her the respective pilot files.

Awards: IS-GR to author of fiction chosen for use in mission creation/narrative, IS-SR and IS-BR for 2nd/3rd place. To be judged by TCCOM/SOO.
Description:
The Karana Initiative will represent the TC taking control of its own competitions - the background material supplied should be used to build on the fiction provided by the TAC. The best fiction submitted will be used as the basis for a future mission/battle creation at the heart of the TC's next major flight competition.

Description:
The Karana Initiative will represent the TC taking control of its own competitions - the background material supplied should be used to design a basic battle idea. We're looking for a 4-5 mission battle based upon the supplied materials. It doesn't have to be very specific, but enough to build on.

Description:

Each mission flown earns you a point for the competitions. Whoever scores most points win. Each mission only counts once. The numbers on the Kill Board at the end of the month are the numbers that are tallied; missions not yet processed will count towards the next month.
