ISD WARRIOR WEEKLY REPORT #26

REPORTING OFFICER: Rear Admiral Zekk Terrik
DATE SUBMITTED: July 19 2021

FROM THE DESK OF THE COMMODORE

Hello folks! We're having busy and exciting times aboard the Warrior these days. Before I forget about it, I have attached the most recent Riddles of the Jawa Aardvark puzzle. See the bonus question below, and have a good time! Thanks again, Aardvark, for submitting these and keeping the competition going. Good looking out.

Looks like a whole lot of our medals came down today, RIP to my inbox in that respect.

Our battle against the evil forces of the ISD-II Hammer concluded today. While I would expect official results to come out sometime tomorrow, it appears - thanks to the math we did in channel at least - that we have gained another glorious victory. I want to thank everyone who contributed. Twenty-five pilots contributed in some way, including myself. Nine of us took a stab at the very difficult single player battle. It's evident to all watching that the esprit de corps of the Warrior is second to none. Let's rest up and get ready for the next battle...something tells me it will be coming soon. As we speak, Major Hogan is planning our next strike. Once again, I can't express how proud I am of you guys. With our big hitter in CM SkyShadow stepping out with the missus to go camping for a few days, we put up a big statement that it doesn't matter who's gone...we will still win. Great work to all of you.

Sin Squadron released a new patch today, check it out! Every bit as awesome and iconic as the original Sin patch. I have also conscripted someone to work on the Warrior's patch, as it looks a bit dated as well. Hope to see that in the future.

The latest iteration of TIE Corps in Battle concluded, congratulations to LC Genie of Lambda for winning the whole thing and earning the title of TIE Corps Battlemaster. Congratulations to the ISD Challenge and Tempest for winning the collective unit based awards. To be sporting, we decided to let them have this one. Congratulations also go out to: MAJ Aardvark for finishing 2nd in the XvT category overall, COL Pete for finishing 3rd in the XWA category overall, and MAJ Aardvark for finishing 3rd in the overall competition. Amazing work, gentlemen.

The TCCOM addressed something in his report that shortly preceded this one that I'd like to address too. Competitiveness is at the heart of what we do in the TIE Corps. Every ship and every squadron wants to be the best, there's no debating that. Certainly some harsh words have been thrown back and forth in the Imperial Storm Discord channel, by all parties. I'm not saying what Plif said was aimed directly at me - not saying that at all - but I imagine I played a part in at least instigating that. So, I'd like to apologize to LC Genie publicly for harsh words said in that channel. Anyone who is familiar with me knows my temper gets up there sometimes. In a club with a global, multicultural membership of all ages, races, religions, cultures, and languages, not everyone is going to get along. We don't all have to be best friends, but we all need to work together for the betterment of the TIE Corps.

Let's move on to something lighter.

WARRIOR ROSTER
  • The roster currently stands at 51 members. We lost someone last week, but I forgot who. However, I'd like to welcome LCM JetMech back to the ISD Warrior! LCM JetMech is a hero of Rho from its glory days (which I know CM Fr0Zen will be bringing back soon!), and has elected to return to Sigma with his brothers from Rho. Welcome home!
  • Congratulations to MAJ Aardvark of Kappa and LT AlexanderK9 of Sin on their promotions!
  • FLEET NEWS
    • Make sure you catch episode 10 of The TIE Pilot Podcast at this link, where GN Doyon and I host a very successful pop-up episode! Episode 11 soon!

    • TTT3 is live here!
    • Imperial Storm 3 is live!
    SHIP NEWS
    • I have had a couple of people reach out to me about being long-term interested in a CMDR spot. I want to encourage anyone who's interested, even if you've been a CMDR before, to reach out to me so we can begin the learning process. It will be my privilege to train you.
    • STAND BY FOR COMBAT ORDERS, WARRIORS. We're on the move after our glorious victory.
    SHIP COMPETITIONS

  • Riddles of the Aardvark

Like every Jawa Aardvark, LT WarperJawa MAJ Aardvark of Sin Kappa speaks in riddles and virtually impossible to understand Galactic Basic. As a translation tool, he has provided the Commodore with a series of riddles and puzzles to be included in every ISD Warrior report.

Unfortunately, the Commodore is far, far too dumb to figure them out and needs the help of the pilots of Wing II to sort them out.

    ---

Every week, RA Zekk will include a new puzzle designed by LT WarperJawa MAJ Aardvark in the Warrior report. The first pilot of Wing II to return a fully correct puzzle to me will receive 5 points, the second will receive 4 points, and the third will receive 3 points. Every entry after that will receive 1 point. You will also receive 1 point for answering the weekly bonus question correctly, and an IS-CR for every 4 entries regardless of where you placed. These will be determined by the timestamp on the email you send.

Starting this week, you may also spend one point and receive a hint! You may do this as many times as you want, but you will always receive a minimum of 1 point no matter how many points you spend.

Naturally, neither myself nor LT WarperJawa MAJ Aardvark will be participating since we have the answers. ;)

This week's bonus question: What planet is your beloved Commodore from?

  • FLEET COMPETITIONS

Here’s some fleet-wide competitions currently going on:

  • SP Ace of the TIE Corps 2021

  • Every Single Player mission flown earns the pilot a point on the Kill Board and the top three pilots at the end of the month earn medals. Yearly, the top four pilots earn medals.

Each mission only counts once for the year, but missions flown in previous years can be reflown for points on the Kill Board (but not additional FCHG points). The Kill Board statistics on the TIE Corps website are final. IS-GW/SW/BW for top 3 monthly, at the end of the year the top 4 pilots win IS-PW/GW/SW/BW. The top pilot at the end of the year also receives the title of SP Ace of the TIE Corps 2021.

  • Guess the Uniform!

Every week you will be presented with five uniforms. You have to guess to which pilot that uniform belongs to. +1 point per correct answer. Score ties are settled by the time it took to solve it (shortest time being best). Be warned the questions will get progressively more difficult!

  • Imperial Storm III

Imperial Storm is a turn based war-game that pits all three Battlegroups against the others over a map of the planetary systems that we are currently near.

The teams will do battle against each other for control of the map, earning points for holding systems and attempting to deprive the enemy of their own.

Battles are fought using a scoring system that takes into account all Legion (LoC/LoS) earned during the combat window, alongside the average scores of a teams top 4 SP pilots.

Full rules can be found here: http://www.isdhammer.org/ImperialStorm_III.pdf

The winning Team at the end of the 30 turn game will see all participating pilots earn a TIE Corps Meritorious Unit Award (MUA).

The top 6 scorers in each of the 3 streams (top LoC count, top LoS count, top HS% SP count) will earn Iron Stars as below:

    1st: IS-GW

    2nd: IS-SW

    3rd: IS-SW

    4th: IS-BW

    5th: IS-BW

    6th: IS-BW

  • Sigma Sigil

Sigma Squadron has been brought back from the dusty corner of a disused hanger aboard the Warrior. To go along with our shiny new Bombers and Interceptors, we require a new patch!

FA Turtle Jerrar has kindly done an updated high-res patch so we aren't flying around with paint flakes falling off.

The only stipulation in place is that the patch be predominantly made up of purple and gold, to honor the history of Sigma Squadron.

If you are stuck for ideas of a starting platform, please do not hesitate to contact me, as I have a draft patch drawn up.

Good luck to all and thanks in advance!
