had gone well, and the search-and-rescue craft had recovered more
survivors from the wreckage of both Battlegroups; the Renegade was ready for whatever
reprisals the Hammer would
throw her way, and she'd brought in some friends as well. Battlegroup
2/5 was now back up to full strength, and not a moment too soon; having
evacuated Bunduki, the Hammer had sent a reprisal force against Kammia
- smaller than the previous force, it contained only a Cruiser, an
Interdictor, and a lone squadron of Missile Boats. Hammer hadn't realised Kammia was going to be reinforced, and after their losses at Bunduki, likely couldn't spare the ships to reclaim a minor world. It promised to be a bloodbath - the Hammer pilots were dedicated to the point of insanity, word was that some of them no longer felt the need to even sleep.... 'All Capital Ships form line abreast, Corvettes on the flanks. X-Wing squadrons will range ahead to disrupt their fighters, keep the TIEs close for anti-missile defence. Y-Wings and Gunboats will attack at first opportunity.' The orders were carried out and the Battlegroup took formation. As X-Wings and Y-Wings took their places at the head of the formation, Stryker folded his arms and wished he could be out there as the tip of the spear, but alas he was confined to the Bridge of the Renegade and would not desert his post unless absolutely necessary. 'Gunners, you may fire when ready.' The range counted down, and the X-Wing formations scattered to approach the fast-moving Missile Boats from different angles. The Second Battle of Kammia had begun... |

Storm is here! This is the TIE Corps' annual wargame that pits
the three TC vessels against each other with very specific objectives.
The full rule pack can be found here. We
fought the Hammer last weekend, and emerged bloodied and humbled but
otherwise victorious. Sadly CM Turel has decided to leave us for the Reserves, we wish him well and hope that after some time away, he returns to us. That leaves only Travis and I of the original six Firebirds remaining in the Squadron, with Colonel Blackheart in Eagle being the third. It's sad, but I'm glad that we've moved on from being six pilots in a brand new squadron who were the butt of more than a few jokes, to ten highly-motivated pilots with shipwide and TC-wide competition wins under our belt! |
