Greetings pilots of the Hammer!
We kick off this weeks report with some news items.
Firstly, Imperial Storm the next TIE Corps wide competition is due to kick off this weekend. More details can be found here but it is effectively a turn based wargame that pits the different ships against each other in a race to secure territory and destroy each other. Battles are fought using a scoring system that takes into account the number of Legions that a side racks up during a combat window in addition to a average score in a SP mission. The three teams in this edition are being led by GN Silwar (Challenge), MAJ Hogan (Warrior) and our own MAJ Genie (Hammer) and there will be plenty more details to follow as we get going.
Secondly and this one is important to all you potential Squadron Commanders out there, we have a vacancy. As you may have noticed both of our sister ships are sporting 5 squadrons whereas we currently have 4, and this is going to change. After speaking with the TCCOM we have elected to advertise for the Hammers 5th Squadron Commander, he or she will be able to select between recommissioning Delta or Gamma Squadrons and will need to have someone identified as their first Flight Leader when they send me their application. Please email me directly (don't hit reply here) and lay out your thoughts as to why you'd like the role, who you plan to bring onboard as a FL (we only need the one initially) and let me know which of the two squadrons you'd prefer. You will need to have completed SM/5 at the IU (or have it started please) and do let me know this weekend as I anticipate several applications.
Finally after many many years of being a Major Task, our very own Wing Commander and purveyor of paperwork has earnt a promotion to Lt Colonel. Task is of course a NPC as with the other WC's but we do hope one day he'll succeed in rising to the ranks of a General Task.
