SQUADRON NEWS

Welcome Thunder Pilots to this week's report!

This week's report brought to you by LCM LegionX:

Good Day Thunder Squadron. Once again I will be writing this week's report and passing on some news from our Squadron Commander, LC Tygra Shadowclaw. Let's start off with his announcement, which is that for the next two weeks he will be away from the squad as he will be moving houses and needs to focus on that. We all wish a smooth and quick transition as well all know moving can be a hassle at times. In his absence, as the Squad's XO, I will be covering for him and help lead the squad for the next two weeks. In the meantime, remember that I always have an open door policy and if you have any questions/comments/concerns/ideas you want to bring up, please do not be afraid to either email me, or DM me on discord.
In other news, our Thunder Uniform Competition has finally been concluded, with LCM Dynamus becoming the victor and winning himself a shiny IR-BW along with deciding on what our squad's uniform will be in Star Wars Squadrons. He has chosen for the Imperial faction: The Inversion Flight Suit Set. Pretty simple, with no combination of other parts, so make sure to set your uniform accordingly in Star Wars Squadrons. As for the New Republic faction uniform set, that is still being decided on by our very own LT Dice Goblin. LCM Dynamus in good sportsmanship has decided to give the honor of the runner up to decide the other uniform, so we will be awaiting his decision.

That is all for squadron news, so unto Competition and Events, along with Squad Activity

COMPETITIONS AND EVENTS

Thunder Trivia:

One trivia question, for a total of four questions during the weekday - points awarded to all, and whoever has most points at the end of the week wins an IS-BR.

Every month, the highest scoring pilot wins an IS-SR, and every pilot with 40 points or more wins an extra IS-BR.

Additionally, there are incentive IS-BRs awarded at 50, 100, 250 and every further 250 points

TIE Corps Exercise: Squadron (Re)Mobilization 3:

Complete 15 IU courses
Submit 4000 words of fiction divided into as many separate pieces as you'd like
== Admirals ==

TIE Corps and Emperor's Hammer admirals aren't normally assigned to squadrons, so they wouldn't have a unit to participate with. This time, we'll be treating all admirals as being assigned to Avenger Squadron. Avenger will be assigned all the same tasks and be eligible for all the same rewards as the other squadrons, minus the objective and fighter changes.

Note: Admirals with a squadron assignment from a dual-profile setup will participate with that squadron, not Avenger.

== Rewards ==

'Participant' is defined as any pilot that makes at least one submission that contributes to any of the tasks listed above.

5 tasks completed - Squadron may change its Objective, all participants awarded an IS-BW
7 tasks completed - Squadron may change its Objective and its fighters to any Tier 1 ships, all participants awarded an IS-BW
9 tasks completed - Squadron may change its Objective and its fighters to any Tier 1 or Tier 2 ships, all participants awarded an IS-SW
11 tasks completed - Squadron may change its Objective and its fighters to any Tier 1, Tier 2, or Tier 3 ships, all participants awarded an IS-GW
First squadron to complete 11 tasks - TUA for all participants from that squadron
Second squadron to complete 11 tasks - MUA for all participants from that squadron
Third squadron to complete 11 tasks - MUA for all participants from that squadron
== Notes ==

Each individual pilot may only complete a battle, mission, or IU course once for credit towards the tasks listed above.

Submissions that satisfy conditions presented in multiple tasks will count towards all of those tasks. For example, completing a battle that with a new mission high score and an overall score of 75% of the battle high score would count towards all three related tasks.

== Starfighter Tiers ==

Tier 1 - TIE Fighter, TIE Interceptor, TIE Bomber, Assault Gunboat, TIE Heavy, TIE Striker, TIE Reaper. Infiltration squadrons only: A-Wing, X-Wing, Y-Wing, Z-95. Note: New Republic fighters like the RZ-2 A-Wing and T-70 X-Wing are NOT included.
Tier 2 - TIE Advanced, TIE Defender, Missile Boat Mk.I, Missile Board Mk.II, TIE Phantom Mk.I, TIE Raptor, Scimitar Assault Bomber. Infiltration squadrons only: B-Wing, T-Wing, V-Wing Mk.II.
Tier 3 - TIE Dragon and Spectre Advanced Missile Boat. Infiltration squadrons only: Shadow Class Y-Wing and E-Wing.

TIE Corps in Battle Season Three:

One battle each from TIE, XvT, and XWA will be assigned monthly. Pilots will fly the battles and submit their pilot files through the database normally. The TCCOM receives a copy of all BSFs, so neither pilot files nor BSFs need to be forwarded to the TCCOM unless the submission gets queued in the database. In the case of a queued submission, send the pilot file to the TCCOM.

The pilot with the highest score each month in each platform will earn 8 points. The next highest score will earn 7, the next highest 6, then 5, then 4 and so on. All submissions will earn at least 3 points. Any mission high scores will earn 1 bonus point and any battle high scores will earn 2 bonus points. High scores are determined at the time the BSF was submitted on a first-come, first-serve basis. However, both pilots will receive the bonus points if a processed high score is overtaken later by another pilot. Points will accumulate for the season for more awards and the overall top pilot will also receive the title TIE Corps Battlemaster.

The points earned by each pilot will also be added to their squadron's total and their ship's total. At the end of the season, the participants from top three squadrons and the top ship earn awards.

Lasts until 30 June

SP Ace of the TIE Corps 2021:

Every Single Player mission flown earns the pilot a point on the Kill Board and the top three pilots at the end of the month earn medals. Yearly, the top four pilots earn medals.

Each mission only counts once for the year, but missions flown in previous years can be reflown for points on the Kill Board (but not additional FCHG points). The Kill Board statistics on the TIE Corps website are final.

IS-GW/SW/BW for top 3 monthly, at the end of the year the top 4 pilots win IS-PW/GW/SW/BW. The top pilot at the end of the year also receives the title of SP Ace of the TIE Corps 2021.

lasts until 31 Dec

Trivia for the Challenged:

COMMANDERS CORNER

WORDS FROM OUR CMDR, MAJ Tygra Shadowclaw:
I will be depending on the Flight leaders to step up. You're in a position of leadership which means you have some additional duties beyond that of a standard Flight member. For those that haven't taken the TIE CORE course from the Imperial Academy, please do so. By not taking it you will limit yourselves to the Rank of Lieutenant and no higher. The course is not difficult and can be done in 30 minutes.

Words from the LCM:

So as we are approaching the halfway mark of May, Real Life tends to get busier and busier. Hopefully we can start getting back into some activity as a squad, but please at the least make sure to keep in contact to prevent from being declared AWOL. I will be working alongside LCM Dynamus to start up another Squad based competition (maybe two, who knows), keep your eyes peeled for those announcements. Other than that, I hope you all have a great rest of your day and week.
