TCCOM REPORT #30

REPORTING OFFICER: High Admiral Plif, TIE Corps Commander
DATE SUBMITTED: 10 May 21
ACTIVE DUTY ROSTER COUNT: 156 (+6) Including 3 NPCs

NEWS

The roster is up six with an uptick in new recruits. Thanks to all of you that've been getting the word out about us!

The other two members of the TIE Corps Command Staff have also been promoted recently for their continued service to the Corps. Congratulations to AD John T. Clark and FA Miles Prower!

Since last time, TTT3 was released and there's been a steady steam of new uniforms being uploaded. Note that the name is now TIE Corps Tailoring Tool, though we still appreciate LC Tempest for all the work he put into the first two versions. Many thanks to the team that contributed to the effort including LT Braz Ile, CPT Robert Hogan, SA Maverick, COL Stryker, AD Jedi Eclipse, COL Silwar Naiilo, and especially LCM SkyShadow who performed the majority of the coding needed to put this together. Excellent work!

The Imperial Achievement Ribbon (IAR) has been approved and made available in the database. This new award fills the gap between evaluation medals since sometimes a month can take us outside what would be considered a timely recognition of effort. Plus these work pretty well for short-term efforts like participation in the TIE Pilot Podcast where awarding the Iron Star didn't really fit.

Speaking of the TIE Pilot Podcast, we have two new episodes thanks to RA Zekk Terrik, COL Doyon, and their guests. You can find those here and here.

As a reminder, stacking up pilot files and screenshots to drop all at once at the end of the month is not very sportsmanlike for the three Ace of the TIE Corps competitions and the other competitions that also depend on mission counts. This is what we call 'hoarding' and can result in being disqualified from the related competitions.

TITLE HOLDERS

The Raise the Flag event each year confers three titles to recognize the top ship, squadron, and individual pilot from the competition. These are the current holders of those titles.

TIE Corps Flagship: ISDII Warrior

TCCOM's Escort Squadron: Rho

TCCOM's Wingman: GN Pickled Yoda

TCCOM'S COMPETITIONS

Squadron (Re)Mobilization is in progress, end date is May 24th. Updates being sent to #competitions in Discord.

TIE Corps in Battle has assignments for May: TIE-TC 168, XvT-TC 81, and XWA-TC 39.

SP Ace of the TIE Corps is awarding the top three pilots on the SP Kill Board each month.

MP Ace of the TIE Corps is now awarding the top three pilots on the Multiplayer Kill Board for all the games other than Star Wars Squadrons, which has its own similar competition.

COOP Ace of the TIE Corps is awarding the top three pilots on the Multiplayer Coop Kill Board each month.

The Trivia Grand Tour is in its sixth season. Updates are going out to the mailing list separately and also #competitions on Discord.

TCCOM'S AGENDA

DONE:

  • Pilot Manual update for CAPT and IAR (more pending for the IAR)
  • Ran CMDR+ meetings on 4/24 and 5/8
  • The CMDRs may now request a group DM in Discord with their COM and the TCCS, which completes the evaluation feedback loop for the CMDRs that were looking for that

ONGOING:

  • Greeting new cadets and performing onboarding tasks before assigning them to squadrons
  • Processing transfers and other profile updates in the database
  • Adding items to the news feed in the database
  • TIE Corps Pilot Manual updates - Living document style instead of big revisions that take a while to come out
  • Chatting with the IO about stuff we need or would like to see in the new database
  • Learning to be a responsible database code collaborator from the IO, FA Turtle Jerrar (thanks!)
  • Translating things discussed in officer meetings into proposals and changes
  • Processing uniform updates

PENDING:

  • Realignment for #hangar-chat, #pickup-games, and other related Discord channels along with some multiplayer-specific roles
  • Parsing RtF feedback to share with the leaders
  • The Commodore Volume 7
    • Thinking about a reformat for this, both to make it easier to compile and easier to read on devices other than computers
  • Competition resource - what we've done before to serve as a pool of ideas for what we can do next
  • Taking TM/3 (someday)
