REPORTING COMMANDER: Major Genie, Squadron Commander

This weekend, we had a 3v3 Fleet Battle marathon in the Cadet Cup #1 with two teams representing the Emperor's Hammer. The Storm Knights and the PickleHorns. I am a highly competitive person, and despite eventually losing, I had a blast. Shoutout to PickleHorns, comprised of DemWookieCheeks, Frozen, Marenta and Xye. With Marenta at the helm, we ended up in 8th place against some stiff competition. We make a very good team. Marenta and Wookie were our constant strategists, while Frozen and Xye were dismantling the enemy capital ships. As for Genie... The 'art piece' included in the report was an inspiration by Xye.

Congratulations to LT Dillshize, for his promotion to Lieutenant. Congratulations also go to MAJ Genie and LT DemWookieeCheeks for achieving 1st and 3rd place respectively in April's COO Star Wars Squadrons Challenge.

A new competition is starting, choose your pair and fly with them PvP combat in open play or against other EHers. We are having a Lambda get-together this Saturday at 5pm EDT / 10pm BST. Chalquilla, beetroot wine and ok Solohan... Twi'Lek women, shall flow.

Meanwhile, we have Genie vs CSS round #2. I had to make some changes to ensure that when converting the CSS to inline, emails can support it. And just when I thought the battle was won, Yahoomail had the last laugh, refusing to conform. So, I tagged in Silwar to get some ideas. So, here I am sending the report via gmail.

New Republic Ambush at the Tepasi System

High Admiral Plif called COL Silwar and MAJ Genie to his office. RA Zekk was already sitted there.
Plif: 'Sit down gentlemen. Our main fleet is currently cornered by huge New Republic forces. Grand Admiral Rapier has issued a plan of escape. '

Plif was pointing to the giant screen, as various fleet positions were flickering. 'A minor force will be dispatched to distract the New Republic fleet near the Tepasi System. The main objective is to ensure our main fleet escapes. This is a highly dangerous mission... Genie put that painting down! RA Zekk will be leading the task force aboard the ISD-II Grey Wolf.'

Plif continued 'the ISD will be escorted by two Frigates, Hammer's Fury and the Vengeance. Our primary objective is not to destroy the entire New Republic fleet!' Plif paused for a moment and stared at Genie. He continued, 'we are to create enough chaos to ensure the New Republic focus their fire on us, allowing our main fleet to escape. Two Squadrons, Phoenix and Tartarus, codenamed Storm Knights and... PickleHorns will be led by you into battle. Phoenix will fly in TIE Interceptors accompanied by one flight of TIE Bombers, while Tartarus will be flying in an assortment of TIE Bombers, escorted by a flight of TIE Defenders.'

'I will not lie to you. This is a suicide mission. The risk of not returning home is high. For this reason, the Grey Wolf and its escorts will be flying only with a skeleton crew, enough to man all the turrets. Even as we speak, all non-essential personnel is already being transferred aboard the ISD-II Hammer. You have been selected to fly this mission as you are some of our most accomplished, veteran pilots. The current fighter pilots of the Grey Wolf are not combat-ready and will instead be sent to the ISD-II Warrior.'

'You are to engage the enemy fleet, we believe destroying the Calamari Cruiser Compliance and its escorts, will create enough of a distraction. If not, we will improvise. We may sacrifice our frigates if need be, but hopefully it will not come to that. The ISD-II Grey Wolf must survive however!' Plif took a moment to straighten his uniform.
'Any questions gentlement?' 'No questions? Excellent! We leave at 03:00 hours'.

'Which timezone?', Genie wondered.

'Standard Coruscant Time' Plif swiftly answered. 'Dismissed gentlemen.'

This is your pair for the entire month and pilots cannot be paired with pilots who are already paired in a set of 2. E-mail your pair to tc-combat-ops-office@googlegroups.com once you have confirmed your pair. All combat victories (screeshots) you achieved as a pair, must be sent to the same email.
• Stay In the Lines: Each week (or most weeks), LCM Neko will post art in the Tempest WSR. Choose your favorite and color it in however you want - crayons, watercolors, pastels, or anything - and email it to Silwar Naiilo (#12630) by the last day of the month. Neko will choose her favorite and the runners-up.
