Firebird PatchFROM STRYKER'S DESK Firebird Patch
The test and evaluation T-70 sat in the repair cradle, a sorry sight for all to see - the battle against the paramilitaries had all but wrecked the precious fighter, but it had yielded excellent live-fire results that otherwise would not have been possible until a squadron of them went into battle for the first time. Stryker had seen how such operations had gone in the past; pilots in unfamiliar craft thrown into the crucible of combat often did not last long, no matter their skill level.

Flight Three's Y-Wings were in a similarly sorry state; the slowest and least agile of the craft that made up the Challenge inventory, they had endured terrible abuses during the six months of near-constant combat operations. Their rugged construction had seen them through countless battles, but they were rapidly nearing the end of their useful lives and Stryker made a mental note to see about getting them replaced before the Task Force left resupply range from friendly bases.

A third flight of X-Wings would be his personal choice, but Eagle already maintained such a roster. B-Wings were also a possibility, to allow for some extra hard-hitting firepower to rival even the Missile Boats of Tempest, as were the temperamental E-Wings that remained in storage on the Destrier in the Karana System.

Ultimately, none of those options were ideal in the long-term; Firebird needed something modern, something that could keep up with the newest New Republic and Independent designs. Firebird needed T-70s, and that meant someone was going to have to steal them...
Firebird PatchSQUADRON NEWS Firebird Patch
First, let us welcome SL AlienC to Firebird Squadron; hailing from The Land Down Under, he brings EABF2 experience and expertise to the squadron that should help with representing us on the Multiplayer front. Unfortunately his joining is accompanied by the loss of LCM SkyHigh and SL Golf to AWOL.

March MSEs are currently with the TCCS, I believe we are just waiting on the SOO to give his comments before we proceed.

Our journey to eleven tasks in Exercise (Re)Mobilisation 3 continues. Thanks to the heroic efforts of almost the entire squadron, we now only have one task to go - we're nearing completion of that goal with two High Scores or seven Battles completed to go. Once we've done that, we can relax...or push to complete all fourteen...

Our very own Woody has just shown me his prototype embroidered patches; these will go for sale soon. They're pretty fancy, and I'll be ordering one to go with my Firebird patch!

Firebird PatchCLOSING COMMENTS Firebird Patch
We're getting there; (Re)Mob 3 has been running for a little over two weeks now, and we're within a hair's breadth of completing the eleven tasks that get all participants an IS-GW, and maybe even a change of craft for their Flight. Is it disappointing that we were beaten to the punch for a Top 3 finish? Maybe. That said, Firebird remains a place where pilots are expected to contribute in a way that they enjoy, not spam activity they do not, and I am proud of how we have all come together to reach this goal!

Again, that's my job as CMDR :P
