The shuttle bucked suddenly, causing the relatively young lieutenant at the helm to grab the controls with concern before righting itself and carrying on its trajectory towards the distant vessel.
Phoenix glanced up from the data pad he was studying, that was the third time on this trip alone that the those strange vibrations had surfaced. The Hammers Edge was well maintained but he was going to have to have a quiet word with the maintenance chief when they finally got back to the Hammer. The trip to the Sovereign for Zekk's instalment as Rear Admiral was a welcome return to the vessel where his TIE Corps career had begun but the report that had been filed into his inbox during the return trip was concerning.
A whole flight of TIE Fighters damaged by a high speed projectile weapon, pure fluke of course that the object had got them at right angles to their flight and careened through all four of them.
"Update from the Science Office Admiral" came the dulcet tones of LT Task.
Phoenix acknowledged the comment and returned his concentration to the datapad, which did not last long.
Suppressing a smile he rose from his seat and leant across the low divider that separated his booth from the cabin behind it where the commanders of all 4 of the Hammers squadrons were seated, all 4 having found a reason to join the trip to the Hammers flagship.
"Gents, you recall the incident that happened earlier today? We have the initial analysis from the science office".
All four pilots wore inquisitive expressions as they crowded around the datapadd that Phoenix had passed to Genie.
"A Diaper?!" Exclaimed Doyon.
"A frozen one Colonel, I wonder where it came from?" Said Decol.
"Science office will extrapolate a likely trajectory, but in the mean time we need to discuss some future operations. Alejandro would you inform the cockpit to get us back the Hammer ASAP."
