looked anxiously out of his office viewport at the hangar below,
specifically at the four vacant spaces where vividly-painted Firebird
Squadron X-Wings should have been. Lieutenant Commander Turel was an
experienced and reliable pilot, but the moment he and his flight had
departed on a routine patrol, Stryker had wished he'd sent Travis or
one of the other senior pilots to watch over him - it was silly, of
course, but too many pilots got lost or in over their heads, and three
of the four pilots in the flight were still young and eager; Jedgar's
experience would only temper them so far... Still, the young pilot had been promoted for a reason, and Stryker had to trust his judgement. Replacing Talon Jade had not been easy, and though the man deserved a chance to lead his old squadron once again, he missed having his reassuring presence around for guidance. One day, the jaded old Major might even get a chance to command his beloved Warspite again, but they could only wait and see what happened. In the meantime, Stryker went back to performing his secondary duties as newly-appointed Warden of the Imperial Archives, and tried not to focus on the chronometer on the wall; the patrol would return when they returned, counting the minutes and seconds only invited more stress. |

vs Eagle Training (henceforth known as Infiltrator Wing training) went
well on Sunday; unfortunately I lost all four games I played which
sucked, but it was nice to mix and match squads and get everyone
working together with new faces. We'll be doing it again next Sunday
(the 17th) at the same time! MSE's are still being evaluated by the Command Staff, I should have feedback soon, however! LCM Turel has been promoted to command Flight 2, which unbalances things slightly in terms of personnel distribution - I may pester FA Plif to reshuffle pilots Ein Bowman, in the space of a week, has accumulated enough LoCs to not only be promoted to Lieutenant, but also be awarded the Commendation of Bravery! Well done! |

Firebird Squadron Training: Every two weeks, Firebird will assemble for Multiplayer Training! Star Wars Squadrons, EA Battlefront 2, and others; let's try to get full flights working together! week has certainly been interesting when it comes to real world events,
and that has a knock-on effect on our performance as gamers. That said,
while this month has been a more sedate start than October or November,
it's been a steady pace that I hope we can maintain for the next few
weeks. I will also be re-evaluating all standing Firebird Squadron competitions as part of a Corps-wide condensing of active competitions. More to come on that shortly! COL Stryker |
