watched the battle replay on the Simulator monitors, wondering where it
had gone wrong. The newest software update had introduced a custom
matchmaking element, allowing pilots to tailor engagements to their
desires. Three pilots from the Challenge;
Stryker, Silwar Naiilo and EchoVII had been challenged by two Epsilon
squadron pilots and their ringer, the Grand Master himself, to a match
- it had started badly, very
badly, but the scores had started to even out before the other team
reached the score limit of 30 points to the Challenge team's 20. It was
disappointing, but Epsilon's newest pilot was a hot hand on the stick
and honestly, who was going to compete against a high-ranking Sith even
in friendly terms? The Challenge pilots had been disappointed, but having watched Colonel Naiilo massacre Commander Witcher in a 1vs1 fight in which Witcher rammed Naiilo more than shot him, their spirits remained high - the system was going to need more testing before it became a truly viable training tool for inter-ship competitions, but it was a start. One thing was for certain; the new pilots coming from the Avenger were good. Sub-Lieutenant Gytheran was one to watch out for, to be sure... |

| It's
been over a week now since 'Wake Me Up When November Ends' ended, which
means the break is over and it's time to get back to activity! Some of
you have legitimate reasons for being inactive that I know about,
Cyberpunk 2077 is not one of
them! My expectations for flight activity are reasonable, so when
someone doesn't meet them, I worry. I sent a squadron e-mail this week,
most of you have replied, some have not which makes me worry even more. I have also challenged myself to a goal; one rank increase (be it FCHG, Combat Rating or COOP Rating) per month. I've technically already achieved this through Star Conflict PvE, but that was fairly easy so I'm going to try for Private 3rd Class before January 1. The TIE Defender and B-Wing are out in Squadrons, along with the custom matchmaker. The matchmaker seems to work well, but custom games will not grant XP or Renown if you're still grinding up the levels. The Defender and the B-Wing have their uses, but nothing revolutionary, and they're not having the effect of sweeping all before them that concerned me prior to release. General Elwood the Brave has been a busy bee, working on making a Firebird Squadron patch. I've been working on getting some stickers printed, but Woody has gone one step further like the hero he is and is offering fabric patches that are absolutely gorgeous. Please DM me if you'd like one, they're not going to be expensive, but depending on demand I may take the hit to the wallet myself just to ensure they get where they're wanted. Finally; MSE evaluations are under review by the CS, nearly everyone got something for last month, so please try and make sure your activity levels this month continue to reflect my faith in you as pilots! |

slow week, which will hopefully pick up now the Squadrons update has
launched. With Christmas around the corner I want to try and get as
much activity in before we all take a week off getting drunk and
