Stryker sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose between his forefinger and thumb to ward off the coming headache; he’d forgotten how much paperwork came with being a Squadron Leader, and how his hastily-scribbled notes to Zekk during his brief time as a Flight Leader in Sin Squadron had been a far cry from the professional report formats his peers and superiors expected. Somewhere along the line, during his twelve years away from the fleet, he’d forgotten how to code.

Of course, that was just one challenge he was facing; the squadron was coming together with a mix of veteran and new pilots, with the teething troubles that went with it; someone, and Stryker thought he knew who, had decided to celebrate Lieutenant Turel’s first combat kill by painting his X-Wing pink. It was a sign of strong morale among the team, especially since Turel had seemingly embraced the change, but it made Stryker miss the Redemption – Nightmare or SavageAz or PickledYoda would have been critiquing the shade of pink used even while they applied it liberally.

Still, it was good to see the spirit of the old Infiltrator Wing hadn’t been lost; his pilots were going to need it in the months to come!

We're now officially one week old, and we haven't killed each other! In true Infiltrator Wing style, there's been some banter and a spilled drink or two, but overall we've hit the ground running! Between the (now) nine of us, we've accumulated 200 Legions of Combat, and 18 Legions of Skirmish! Go team!

We'd also like to welcome new transfer LT Lee Cartec, and congratulate LT Hackers on his promotion! MSEs are also being processed, so we're starting to see medals awarded to Firebird pilots: COL Blackheart just received an ISM, and I've just been awarded my first Silver Star!

Three people have entered the Firebird Patch competition so far, each with their own fantastic vision of how it should look; the competition is open for sixteen more days, and participation dependent, the winner may nab themselves a shiny IS-SR!

Finally, I'd like us to keep this momentum going! We've got a solid start behind us now, and it's time to power forward! I've got some competitions and events in mind to keep people stimulated, and I've been coordinating with MAJ Jade and LCM TI-40026 (who we should make go back to Holu Tatsuumi!) to keep everyone active and on the same page!

Firebird Motto Competition:Firebird needs a motto, nice and catchy, best one wins an IS-BR!

Firebird Nickname Competition:Firebird Squadron needs a nickname, something nice and catchy! IS-BR for the nickname chosen!

Firebird Patch Competition:Firebird Squadron needs a patch! Be creative, go nuts, but remember it has to fit on the sleeve of a TTT uniform! IS-SR for first place if 5 or more entries. IS-BR for second place if 5 or more entries, for first place if 4 or less entries.

Honor the past... October/November: Complete XvT-IW1 and XWA-IW1, highest score for each gets an IS-BW.

We're seeing a lot of members returning now that Squadrons is out, along with a healthy influx of new members as well. This is good for us as a Squadron and for the TIE Corps as a whole, and I hope it continues!

That said, we can't rest on our laurels just yet - we've got the potential to recruit more members to Firebird and the TIE Corps as a whole, and if we get enough interest, we can start seeing about reopening another IW Squadron and becoming a proper Wing again!
