INFERNO SQUADRON NEWS |
Welcome all to my second report as CMDR of Inferno, it has been another epic week over here, especially with the release of the long-awaited Squadrons! The TC is in fever pitch and we've seen some phenomenal activity right across the board with members playing together every night so far since release! This week's MP Shootout hosted by myself, Admiral Miles Prower and COL Horus Blackheart saw record attendance numbers and at one point saw almost 3 full EH squads battling it out in the stars! September was a quiet month for us here at Inferno, we had a stutter in RtF with only 3 of us participating and now the results have been finalised I'd like to give a big congratulations to the Warrior, Rho Squadron and Pickled Yoda who were all the top performers in the competition - great achievement all and also well done to all the hard work of all participants in the competition! It was fantastic to see so much activity and was a great leadup to Squadrons, and it was very well run behind the scenes, so a massive shout out to everyone whose hard work went into making it a memorable one. Now we're into October and it's clear that Inferno is turning up the heat! We've seen two members return to form in activity after being on the brink of AWOL, we have five members who have been super active in Squadrons since launch over the weekend, with several more stating they'll be getting into it asap. That's a massive increase in activity over previous months, and I am sure this is a sign of things to come from Inferno squadron! Another exciting development this month was the very welcome addition of LCM ERiSi to our team, installed as the FL of Flight 2. He's a fearsome pilot and has some fantastic ideas for both the squadron and the TC, so watch this space! We are still a full squadron, and to make way for LCM ERiSi we sadly lost SL Del Eon to the reserves, CPT Drake Starfire has settled into the position of FM 3-2. This week I'd particularly like to praise the efforts of two of our Lieutenants who have gone from near inactivity to being two of our most active pilots in the squadron! First of all LT Freddo who has won a few medals and earned his promotion to LT in the process! LT Dougal Ceallaigh has also been super active flying squadrons, and notably smashed through 3 XvT battles and brought us a step closer to squad citations! I've had just over half the replies to the questionnaire sent out now, and I'll be continuing to harrass those who have not! Reminder that response is mandatory. Keep an eye out this week for more squad competitions going up, we'll have quite a few things to participate in, and we'll be trying to cover the platforms played by all squadron members (part of the reason why the questionnaire feedback is so important). In other news, September's MSE for Inferno has been completed and submitted for approvals. I expect October's will be a much more arduous task!! We also participated in what we believe to be the very first EH vs EH dogfight in Squadrons this week! A well fought battle between LT Angel, CM EvilGrin, LT Freddo, LCM ERiSi and a friend vs. COL Ricaud, MAJ Talon Jade, COL Stryker, LT James379 & COL Horus Blackheart! Good job pilots, looking forward to getting more matchups together in the future! |

CLOSING COMMENTS |
It has been another crazy week, I've been personally flying a lot of Squadrons, as well as engaging in discussions with the COO office as to how we go about setting up support for this fine platform for the benefit of the TC! I'm already in love with the game, it's not perfect by any stretch, the launch has been fraught with bugs and quirks - but what game isn't these days, I have patience and believe these issues will be ironed out and that this will be a brilliant platform for the TC for years to come. Inferno has kicked off our promised huge push into activity, and we've had a good number of changes this week! We've managed to get some games in together in Squadrons and it'll be fantastic to turn our enemies to cinders with a fully fledged Inferno Squad! CM EvilGrin |
