ISD-II Challenge
Commodore HA Dempsey reporting
Report ID: H.AD.009
Report date: september 27, 2020

Commodore's speech

As the days aboard the ISD-II Challenge progressed, Dempsey could see her three squadrons growing into real contenders. With any luck, the mighty warship would soon reclaim the position it once had as the best of the ships in the Fleet. There was just one thing bothering her.

Gremlins in the hyperdrive.

Well, they probably weren't real gremlins, since no one had ever seen an actual gremlin. Or maybe they were, because the creatures they were catching down there were also something no one had ever seen before. And so, the name 'gremlin' had stuck. So far, over two dozen had been caught. A few had been killed for study, some had been shipped off to Aurora Prime, and the rest had just been tossed into space. Which left Dempsey with one mystery left: where in name of the Sith did these things come from? And why didn't she sense them in the Force? Well, two questions then. It bothered her. No one knew of creatures that didn't leave a trail in the Force. Rancors were suspected of having this ability, but rancors were pretty rare these days. And she didn't fancy going out and finding one to test the theory.

As for the origin of these creatures, she was completely at a loss, as was everyone else in the Fleet. Maybe the Warrior's Commodore knew. Or his infernal Wing Commander. Maybe the\ time had come to pay a visit and poke around over there. And maybe leave a few gremlins behind.

Raise the Flag is nearly done, with only 3 days left to get in some points. At this point, I think we can be pretty certain the Warrior is back to its old tricks and taking the win again. As it seems, we're locked in for second place, but with a few bonus competitions still awaiting results, there's a lot of points up for grabs. We've still got one pilot in the top 3, so as far as I'm concerned, we did good. Besides, did we really ant to win this thing? There'd be nothing left to do in next year's competition. This result will definitely leave us plenty of room to improve.

Biggest news the past week of course was a second change in Command aboard this ship, as CPT Drake Starfire decided to hand over the reigns of Inferno squadron to a relatively new pilot in the Fleet, LCM EvilGrin who was groomed for this positionj by COL Doyon. The now Commander EvilGrin has also grabbed himself a position as COO Assistant, so expect a lot from him!

We also saw the return of an old veteran to active duty, as CPT Kalve Ryder decided to pay us a visit and take up a FM position in Tempest sqn. Welcome back, Captain! I hoped you liked that battle you flew :)

Inferno's pilots also saw some belated medals coming in for the monthly evaluations. Grats to the recipients! Also, kudos to GN Phoenix Berkana who finally got his hands on the Bronze Star of the Empire he had earned himself in July!

Lastly for this week, I should probably get off my lazy arse and get onto Discord as it seems Telegram is dying. Which is too bad, I liked it.

PS: I'm not sure if my schedule next week will allow a report on Sunday. If not, you might get it on Saturday, Monday, or I might skip a week altogether,

Wrapping up

Few people improved their idle status from last week's report. I do hope that will change, or I'm going to have to start buying tickets on the next transport to the M/FRG Phoenix.
And be warned, they will be coming out of your paychecks....
