THUNDER WEEKLY SQUADRON REPORT - #8

To: HA Dempsey, Commodore ISD-II Challenge

From: GN Phoenix Berkana, Commander Thunder Squadron

Date: 1st September 2020

SQUADRON NEWS

- LT Angel continues her run in the Empire’s Wrath tournament.

- A number of Iron Stars awarded throughout the squadron this week

- Medals of Communication arrive!

Last night Fleet Admiral Plif announced the beginning of a new competition - Raise the Flag.

For those of you who are new to the TIE Corps, which is a lot of you, Raise the Flag is an annual event that pits the ships, squadrons and pilots of the TIE Corps against each other.

During the course of September, all activity will count for points on RtF (a full list is here: http://rtf.tsaunders.net/pages/rules ) and at the end of the month, the pilot with the most points will be named the TCCOMS Wingman for the next 12 months, the squadron with the most will become his Escort Squadron and the ship with the most becomes the TIE Corps Flagship.

From 2014-2018 the ISD Warrior was the winner, whilst last year the ISD Hammer took the crown. This month, is the first time that the Challenge has been able to compete and I would dearly like to dethrone the others - so if you have time this month, fly, write, draw... it all counts.

There are also a number of bonus competitions - the first one being a writing competition with the following prompt being the plot:

As the First Recon Division prepares to leave the Aurora Sector, TIE Corps training was transferred off the M/PLT Daedalus in orbit of Ullyr to the SSD Avenger. A few days later, the Daedalus failed to complete several scheduled check-ins so a small task force was sent to make contact with the platform. When the platform was hailed, the response came from a group of hijackers! They claim that the station’s personnel are now hostages and any attempt to retake the station will result in their deaths. How had they known that most of the platform’s personnel had been transferred and what are they hoping to accomplish by taking control of the Daedalus? How will the TIE Corps retake the station without endangering the lives of the platform’s crew?

Deadline for the writing competition is the 11th of September.

If you have any questions about RtF - please let me know!
