Despite some transfers to the Reserves since last time, the roster count is unchanged at 110 after some veterans returned and a cadet completed his training. As always, thanks to those that are getting the word out about us and making the effort to remind our veterans that we’re still here. We only have six open squadron positions open now and half of them are Flight Leader roles, so I strongly encourage the CMDRs of squadrons with an open FL spot to bump up one of their FMs.
If and when we end up needing to open another squadron, the current plan is for it to be just one squadron and for that squadron to either be Gamma or Lambda in Wing I on the ISDII Hammer. We’re working from the assumption that we wouldn’t have enough volunteers for new CMDR positions to open three squadrons at once, please let me know if you’re an FL or FM that would like to be a CMDR and just hasn’t said so yet.
This isn’t really news anymore, but Tempest Squadron was activated in Wing X aboard the ISDII Challenge under the command of GN Dunta Polo. Congratulations and good luck!
Also announced separately was the closure of Kappa Squadron, which wasn’t an easy choice to make but we’re hoping that it’ll be a positive change for the pilots that moved to other squadrons and was the right choice for pilots that are now in the Reserves.
The previous three sets of Commendations of Loyalty were awarded by the Fleet Commander. For those that were recognized, well done and keep up the great work! For those that aren’t familiar with the CoL, it’s awarded only twice a year and in very limited numbers as each leader gets to nominate just one officer each. There’s another round coming up for Grand Admiral Ronin’s birthday on August 21st.
The TC PvP Shootout this past weekend included a rare appearance by yours truly. We ended up flying in EABF2’s Starfighter Assault mode and I’m pleased to report that between myself, COL Silwar Naiilo, and LT EvilGrin, we managed to win more than we lost and posted some pretty good scores along the way. After the flying, there was a good discussion about some event and multiplayer concerns that I’ve brought to the TCCS.
