Commodore's speech

High Admiral Dempsey sat behind her desk in the Commodore's office aboard the might Imperial class Star Destroyer Challenge. The desk was filled with paperwork, and there was an annoyed look on her face. She scribbled a signature onto a piece of paper and threw in into a pile on her right.

"Frackin paperwork," she mumbled. "Why the heck did I take this job anyway." She sighed and got up. She looked at her desk, shook her head, and walked to the door. "Damn you, Task, for staying on the Hammer."

Well, in case you didn't get it yet - this week has seen it's fair share of transfers, and rumour has it that a lot of Sub-LTs will be getting their LT bars soon. The uniforms department of the TC is doing overtime, and I heard they are now employing slave labour from one of the local backwater planets to make enough new uniforms for all out new cadets. So much even, that we're already close to opening up a third squadron on this ship. We've already had some applications for the Commander job even though the squadron isn't yet recalled to active duty, so that's one peoblem off my mind.

Well, it's replaced by another, as I never had multiple applications for the same job before. This is new territory.

And about that, I wish to welcome my old squadron, Delta, to the Challenge. the squadron has decided to come along and resume their operations as Thunder squadron.

Both Challenge squadrons, Inferno and Thunder, are teaming with activity. Which is a good thing because it won't be long before the refit of this ship is completed and we can go out there and start fighting some scum. I've been told the Thunder pilots have managed to reclaim their quarters by getting rid of all the supplied that we had stored there.

We're still working out a few kinks. I know there's been some discussion in Inferno about their squadron patch so I'm curious to see what they come up with. Thunder seems to be pleased with what they have, or I might have missed something, but they don't have a squadron banner yet. They also have yet to select a nickname, a motto and it appears no message board has been set up. They do have the option of going with what we have on record, which is The Eyes of the Storm. The Thunder From Down Under as a nickname (or one of the two), and The Clash of Thunder is your Death Knell as a motto. I've also found an old squadron banner here: thttp://isdchallenge.org/Meet/images/Thunder%20Banner.png.

Lastly, it seems the higher-ups decided to retro-actively award medals for the lifetime achievements in the FCHG standings, as I got a bunch of them in the mail this week. Whee :)

I'm pondering a ship wide (well - squadron v squadron) comnpetition upon my return from a semi-short LoA, so be ready when I am!

Unless it's a 5th victory, you then get a IS-SR. Unless it's a 10th victory, which gives you an IS-GR. A 25th victory will give you an IS-PR!
Remember - your answer has to go to the list.

    Wrapping up

Well, what do you know. 3rd report of my tour of duty as Challenge COM and I'm already up one report that's late. But I have excuses, as for the first time since this whol semi-lockdown thing started over here, I could actually go up again and fall out of a plane. Well, not technically falling since I did it on purpose. But it occupied the entire weekend.

Which reminds me - I need someone to build a skydiving facility in the Challenge. We can move all the fighters from Thunder and Inferno into the garbage compactors to make room.

On a related note, I will be going on a short LoA on the 20th and won't be back until the 10th. Depending on how well prepared I am next Sunday, you may or may not see a report from me. COM-TACA-FSE/HA Anahorn Dempsey/ISDII Challenge, signing off
