Gamma Squadron Report

Weekly Report #16 – Submission date: December 18th 2011

Introduction

Welcome to this week’s Gamma Report of awesomeness...or something...

The Fleet has been a bit quiet since the TC Flight Competition ended. And it ended well for us, as we manage to keep our second place with brilliant participation and scoring in the last round, especially because of COL Zosite’s appearance, but also with everyone else who participated throughout the comp, and did their job well in the last round!

An analysis of the competition final standings shows that we were the squadron that had the most participants (6), with Delta Squadron right behind (5). Also we were, by far, the squadron that had the highest scores in the competition (9), against only 2 from Delta. So, why were Delta victorious? The answer is quite simple: four out of five Delta members submitted all missions in every week, while Gamma only had one every week, and three in the last one. This was an excellent effort on their part, and is deserving of our recognition. Congratulations, Delta!

Congratulations as well to Epsilon Squadron, who did an amazing job with only two active pilots, managing to stay only 28 points behind us. Beta and Alpha stayed behind a little, but their efforts should be recognized as well. Congrats!

Reminder: applications for Flight 2 Leader are being accepted. Requirements for the position are to be active in all competitions this squadron takes part. I don’t require Flight reports, but you’re free to do it if you want to.

Until the end of December, the only assignment is to fly TIE-TC 240: Survival. Clock is ticking, get to work!

News

* Delta is victorious, Gamma achieved second place!

* Gamma has the best pilots, but needs to work as a team to succeed!

* Flight 2 Leader position is open for applications!

* Assignment for December: TIE-TC 240!

Competition Center

* TC Flight Comp – Ended!
From the SOO: With a duration of 4 weeks I will post an XvT/XWA/TIE Free mission to complete within 7 days at the beginning of every week, with points awarded for participation, and bonuses for high scores and squad participation.  The rules have already been looked at by CMDRs and a few minor changes have been made to bring you this shiny new polished version...

Pilot file submitted = 2 Points per pilot
Submitting Files for all 3 Platforms (per week) = 3 Point (Bonus)
Highest Score for Platform (peer week) = 3 Points (XWA/XvT/TIE) (Bonus)
50% Squad Participation (per week) = 2 Points (Bonus)
100% Squad Participation (per week) = 4 Points (Bonus)

Weekly Award: - IS-GW for Highest Score per Platform
Final Award:      - IS-PW for Pilot scoring 2 or more Weekly Top Scores
                           - IS-GR for every participating member of winning squadron
                           - IS-SR for every participating member of runner-up squadron

Winning squadron will be awarded the honorific of "TCCOMs Own" to be held until next competition.
Winning CMDR will be awarded the honorific of "Wing Commander" (not the position, but as a "Senior CMDR" title)
Not the most complicated comp idea in the world, but I hope we will see some activity generated.

Submissions of pilot files will as usual be to CMDRs, with CMDRs sending me their personal files.  I will update a scores table on this e-mail group and the MB every week, and announce the next weeks missions the same way.

Quotes of the Week

1 – FA Jarek La’an: “Delta should probably be relieved that it took 3 weeks for Dan to tempt Zosite from whatever cave he hides in :P”

COL Viper Pred: “Indeed, if Zos hadn’t had problems with his PC, he would have wiped the floor with those Delta boys :P”

GN Gilad: “My agents did a good job keeping him in that cave until this week :P”

Next time, we will be stronger... (sounds like a Call of Duty Team Deathmatch defeat message :P)

Dark Lord of the Week

The highly prestigious title of Dark Lord of the Week is only given to the person who has most advanced the success of the Squadron, amused the CMDR, or slipped me the most $5 notes in a brown paper bag. This week's winner is:

GN Gilad, the honorific Wing Commander!

Ewok of the Week

Yub Yub!

Every story has a hero, every journey has a first step, every Fleet has a pilot who's about as much use as an ashtray on a speeder bike. This weeks's Prize Ewok is none other than:

Inactive pilots!

Conclusion

The lesson we can learn from this fleet wide competition is that we do have the best pilots in the fleet, but we still need to realize that teamwork is also important, as it made Delta victorious. I hope that in the future we can achieve that kind of team effort, from which we’ll be a very difficult squadron to beat.

Next report will be released on Christmas!

Respectfully submitted,
